Rules for images
We can remove a photo from an offer if it violates our rules.
When a photo violates our rules
If a photo from an offer does not showcase the product you sell, we may remove it from the offer.
We may also remove a photo from all active offers if it contains:
- forbidden content
- contact details
- advertisement relating to activities outside Allegro.
We may remove an entire offer if it violates the rules. It will happen if in the offer:
- there is only one photo and it violates our rules
- all the photos violate our rules.
Pay attention to the reason for the removal
If we remove a photo from your offer or the entire offer, you will get a notification from us, where we provide a reason. In the message, we will include tips on how to avoid mistakes when listing a new offer and adding photos to it.

What a thumbnail is and how to set it according to our rules
Better photos equal higher sales ― learn how to comply with the Allegro standards regarding photos.
If you add at least one photo while listing an offer, buyers will see its miniature form on the product list. A thumbnail showcases the product. Its purpose is to present the product you are selling as accurately as possible. Our research shows that product photos with white background are more attractive to buyers — a good photo increases the chances of sales by up to 12%. Products showcased on a uniform background present better in the search results.
The thumbnail always consists of the image that you set first in the listing form.
Setting a thumbnail is always free — regardless of the category in which you list a product.
Maximum size and resolution
- On Allegro, you can upload images with a maximum resolution of 26 Mpx. The maximum image size we will display on Allegro is 2560 x 2560 pixels. We will proportionally scale images with a side longer than 2560 pixels to fit that size.
- The longer side must be at least 400 pixels long.
Rules for presenting products
Products visible in the photos should be presented against a white background with no extra graphics. You can present multiple products if you sell them as a set.
- Models can appear on the photo with the product — regardless of the category in which you list the offer.
- You can place another shot of that product from a different angle in the same photo. Just make sure that buyers are not confused as to the number of units of the product you sell.
- You can also include a demonstrative item, showing buyers the product they are buying and how to use it ― for example, a car radio with a remote. Based on the photo, the buyer should have no doubts about what they are buying.
- If you sell a product in the original manufacturer's packaging, you can include it in the photo. However, you cannot have your store's logo on the packaging photo.
- Do not present multiple variants of a product. Each variant should be listed in a separate offer with a unique photo. You can then link those offers into a multi-variant offer.
Using logotypes
Do not place any logotypes — of a product or of your store. The rule does not apply if you sell designer products and a logotype is visible on it or its packaging.
Additional elements
A thumbnail is supposed to showcase the product so do not include any additional information, text, or pictographs.
- Do not add any text in the background.
- Do not add any icons or graphics (for example, arrows pointing to a specific part of the product).
- The photo is supposed to promote the product, not your business or account. Do not try to bypass this rule. It is prohibited to include additional elements or product photos with your logo and the name of your store or brand.
- If it is not possible to depict crucial features of the product in a photo, such as color, flavor, or scent — you can add graphic elements to the thumbnail to indicate those features.
Photo background
There is only one rule — use only white background. Refrain from using borders and other adornments. White or transparent items present well against the white background as well.
You can use a background other than white only in select categories and for specific items:
- products with the value of the Condition parameter: used, remanufactured, or damaged — listed from a regular account
- products with the value of the Condition parameter: used, remanufactured, or damaged — listed from a business account in the category: Automotive — Car Parts

If you sell products delivered by electronic means, the thumbnail may showcase a logo or name against a background of any color. You can also add the nominal value and subscription period. Do not include the order handling time, for example, dispatch in 24h.
Multiple products in a set
If you sell product sets, show them all in the photo. Do not add any text.
Showcasing covers
You can showcase the covers of books, comic books, computer games, movies, and CDs either against a white background or with no background. The whole cover must be shown in the thumbnail.
Technical drawing
If you sell a product from the Automotive category, showcase it in the thumbnail. Do not add technical drawings.

Yes. Sorting by relevance takes thumbnail rules into consideration.
If your thumbnails do not meet our standards, we can impose sanctions on your account, as stipulated in the Allegro Terms & Conditions. If you try to become a Super Seller or maintain this status for another month, you cannot have scored any warnings regarding your thumbnails.
Rules for images in the gallery and in descriptions
The purpose of images is to present the offered product thoroughly and in detail. They should be available on every device so that buyers can easily get familiar with the offer.
Large, clear images will better present your offer to buyers. They will also be easier to view on any device — including devices with smaller screens.
The basic rules
- All images have a minimum size (the length of the longer side should be a minimum of 500 pixels).
- You cannot place texts or logos in the images (with exceptions).
- You can add the following number of images:
- on a regular account — 10 images
- on a business account:
- in all categories except Automotive and Real Estate — 16 images
- in Automotive and Real Estate — 40 images.
- An image should not contain:
- text
- your logo.
- The image can contain:
- the product you sell
- the product packaging
- logos of brands, products, technologies
- color and pattern markings
- certificates and symbols
- graphic elements, for example, a close-up, a cross-section, operating principles, arrows
- numbers
- any background.
There may be exceptions from the rules for images in the gallery and descriptions resulting from agreements with authorized distributors.
How to prepare an image correctly
- Image minimum size — a minimum of 500 pixels (the longer side)
- Image maximum size — 2560 x 2560 pixels. On Allegro, you can upload images with a maximum resolution of 26 Mpx. We will proportionally scale images with a side longer than 2560 pixels to fit the 2560x2560 size.
- Images can have any proportions —a rectangle with any proportions of 1:1, 4:3, 16:9, or others.
- Images can be saved in the JPG, JPEG, or PNG format. If you list through the API or from the file, we also accept the WEBP format.
- If you want to maintain full color fidelity — do not use other color profiles than the sRGB profile.
Examples
- You can use any background color. The image should present the product accurately.
- Do not add any text, such as the name or logo of the store or order processing information.
- You can show text on the product or the original packaging.
- Do not add any text informing about product features.
- You can describe the product dimensions with figures and units of measurement.
- Do not add any descriptions of the height or length. Present such information graphically.
- You can add the brand logo of the original products.
- You can show colors with names.
- You can apply graphic elements, such as a close-up.
- Do not describe the product structure (you can add the blueprint as an attachment).
- You can place numbers in images.
- You can graphically show product operation.
- Do not describe product operation.
- You can show certificates or markings if they are part of the product.
- You can show an image of the product with the label visible or a close-up of the label.
- Do not add any tables that are not on the product.
- You can present logos of the technologies used in the product.
- Do not include descriptions of technologies.
