How to sell products containing batteries
Learn how to list products containing batteries in accordance with the law.
If you sell products containing portable batteries, such as microphones, night lamps, or air conditioners, complete the CE parameter. You will find it in the Safety information section in the listing form. This way, buyers will see that information in the parameters section on your offer page.
What the CE marking is
The CE marking on a product confirms that it meets the safety requirements. It lets the buyer know that the product is safe and correctly placed on the market.
Only the product manufacturer or their authorized representative can assign the CE marking.
Additional information
According to the regulations, from February 18, 2027, products that contain portable batteries should come with instructions and safety information on the use, disposal, and replacement of batteries. The buyer should also be informed about:
- the manufacturer
- importer
- authorized representative
- battery model
- batch number or serial number
- product number or other feature that allows for product identification.
Legal basis
Regulation 2023/1542 of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) of 12 July 2023, concerning batteries and waste batteries, amending Directive 2008/98/EC and Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 and repealing Directive 2006/66/EC.

Dietary supplements
If you want to list dietary supplements on Allegro, make sure that the Main Sanitary Inspectorate has approved them for sale.
Before you list an offer with a dietary supplement, make sure selling it is allowed. You can check it in the register of the Main Sanitary Inspectorate (available only in Polish). If your supplement is on the list and is approved for sale, you can list it on Allegro. With that, you can be sure that your customers will buy a product that is safe for them.
Offer title and description
Before you list a product, make sure its name in the offer title and description matches:
- the name on the label
- the information in the Main Sanitary Inspectorate register.
Check which form of your product is registered ― capsules, drops, pills, and so on. It is important because only in this form can you sell a dietary supplement. Include this information in the offer description, as well.
The offer description cannot suggest that the dietary supplement has medicinal properties — for example, that it lowers blood pressure. According to its definition, a dietary supplement is a food that:
- is intended to supplement the regular diet
- is a concentrated source of vitamins or minerals and/or substances that exhibit nutritional or other physiological effects.
When you should add an additional label photo
Dietary supplements may have multiple labels. It affects the way they are registered by the Main Sanitary Inspectorate. We recognize dietary supplements:
- with a label in Polish, registered under a Polish name
- with a label in Polish, registered under a foreign name
- with a label in language other than Polish, registered under a Polish name.
In the first two cases, the name on the label matches the name in the Main Sanitary Inspectorate register. This is the name you should include in the offer title and description.
In the last case, the names are different, which may confuse the buyers. This is why you should also include the Polish name of the supplement in the offer title and description. Moreover, add a photo of the additional label in Polish stuck on the product. With this, we know for sure your product is approved for sale.
Additional information in the offer
While listing an offer, make sure you include as much information as possible. This way, buyers can learn more about your product and are more likely to buy it. Include information about:
- product classification ― the information about whether your product is listed in the Main Sanitary Inspectorate register as a dietary supplement, medical product, or something else
- the product form: capsules, pills, liquids, or other.
- how much product there is, for example, weight or number of pills
- the ingredients and their exact concentration
- the recommended daily intake
- warnings concerning intake
- the manufacturer or distributor along with their contact information
- the way to store the product.
Legal basis
In this article, we refer to article 29 (1) of the Act of August 25, 2006, on food and nutrition safety (Polish Journal of Laws of 2006, No. 171, item 1225) (available only in Polish).
What are the rules of listing products with energy efficiency labels
In 2021, the energy efficiency label changed. Now it contains new energy efficiency rating, including the original scale from A to G. A+, A++, and A+++ classes were removed.
Currently, there are two formats of energy efficiency labels:
- the current A+, A++, and A+++ format for select appliances from the Home and Garden and the Business and Services categories, as well as the Audio, Video and Household Appliances subcategory
- the new label format for select appliances from the Electronics category and the Lighting subcategory — compliant with the 2021 EU regulation.
See the new energy efficiency label
You can find deatiled information about energy efficiency labels on the European Commission website.
For the categories and subcategories listed below, you are still obliged to provide information about the product energy efficiency class on a scale from A+++ to G.

If the parameters or attachments in your offers are incorrect, edit them. To do it, open the My Assortment tab, and click [options] next to a given offer. Then, click [edit].
This change applies to:
- light sources — for example, light bulbs
- products where the light source is an integral element of the product — for example, LED strip lights
- products sold in a set with the light source — for example, pendant lamps sold with a compatible light bulb set.
What it means for you
Lighting placed on the market before September 1, 2021, has to be labeled with the new format of the energy efficiency label.
How to list the offer correctly
No matter if you sell lighting with the new or the old energy efficiency label, make sure that:
- you provide the correct title and description — according to the information provided on the efficiency label
- you provide the correct value of the Energy efficiency class parameter
- you add correct attachments — the energy efficiency label (in PDF/JPG/PNG) and the product information card (in PDF).
If the parameters or attachments in your offers are incorrect, edit them. To do it, open the My Assortment tab, and click [options] next to a given offer. Then, click [edit].
What buyers will see
We have launched new features that help buyers check the energy efficiency information in a fast and convenient way. All you need to do is add an attachment with the energy efficiency label and the product informationc card to your offer. Once you do it, next to the product photo on the offer list, as well as in the offer, the buyers will see:
- an image with the energy efficiency class. When they click on it, they will download the energy efficiency label attached to the offer
- a URL to the product technical specifications.
