What are product sets
Product sets are offers where you sell several different products or multiple units of the same product. To create such a set, all products in it must be linked to the Allegro Product Catalog.
How to list product sets
- Go to the listing form.
- In the product search find the first product to add to your set. This is your main product.
- Then, choose more products from the Allegro Product Catalog and click [continue with [X] products]. You can add up to 10 different products to your set. A customer can buy only an entire set. For example, if you sell 1 bottle of shampoo and 2 bottles of conditioner together, the buyer cannot buy just 1 bottle of container.
Example
You list a smartphone in a set with a case. You choose the smartphone as the main product. The offer is listed in the following category: Electronics ― Phones and Accessories ― Smartphones and Mobile Phones. If you choose the case to be the main product, the offer will be visible in the following category: Electronics ― Phones and Accessories ― GSM Accessories ― Cases and Covers.
If you're selling multiple units of the same item in offers, but you're not using sets
We may automatically mark such active buy now Offers as product sets. We will only do this if you list Offers in the selected categories and we are sure that you are actually offering many units of a given product. We will inform you about any such change by e-mail. You can also check what Offers make up the Bundle in the My Assortment tab. Use the sets filter in the offers and select Offers with a set of products.
Product sets make it easier and faster for customers to Purchases at your place. They will immediately see that the offer is a set and how many units of the product you are selling. For example: You are selling 4 tires in your offer. We mark such an offer as a Bundle of 4 units.
How we display parameters for product sets
Parameters describe only the main product. As a result, buyers will not see the parameters of additional products in the set. You can include them in the description if you want to. You can edit the Other Parameters section only for the main product.
Make sure you pay attention to the following three parameters:
- Condition: you can determine this parameter only for the main product. The same parameter value will be automatically set for all other products in the set. You cannot change it.
- Number of products in the set: the number of product units in one set. To use this feature, select [I’m selling multiple items].
Thanks to this parameter, you can create a product set with multiple units of the same product. For example, you can sell two packs of pens in one offer.
- Number of Product Sets in the Product availability section: this is the number of full sets you have in stock.
If you sell the same product both separately and as a part of a set (meaning you sell it in two offers or more), do not enter the combined number of units you have in stock.
We do not verify the combined number of units for offers with the same product. After each order, we deduct the relevant number of units only from the offer the customer bought from. That is why you should always check if the number of product units in your stock checks out.
Example 2
You list two offers. In the first offer, you have a pack of pens. In the second one ― a pack of pens and a pencil case. The number of available units is 50, while the number of available sets is 10. You sell one pack of pens from the first offer. The number of available units is now 49, but the number of available product sets is still 10.
What if parameters of other products in a set are wrong If you think other products in a set have wrong parameters ― report the mistake in the product information. You can do it and suggest the change by clicking [report an error] in the listing form.
How to manage product sets
Open the My Assortment tab. In the Offer details section:
- you can filter out offers with and without product sets
- you will see the Set of [x] products label next to the offer title ― for offers with product sets
- you will see all products in the set.
How the buyers see product sets
Buyers can see product sets on:
- the offer list ― they will see the Bundle of [x] products or Bundle of [x] units label and the main product name
- the product list ― they will see the Bundle of [x] products or Bundle of [x] units label and the main product name
- the product offer list ― at the top of the list they will see the [x] offers of this bundle label and the main product name, and below ― products in a set. Soon buyers will be able to filter out offers so that they only see offers with product sets.
When the buyer clicks a given set, they will be redirected to the product page. There they can see the information about the product set and the number of products in the set, for example: Bundle of 5 products.
On the product page, the buyer can see:
- the price of an entire set
- the list of products in a given set together with the product ratings
- the main product parameters
- the product set description written by you.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Number of Products in the Set parameter and the Quantity parameter where I declare how many units I have in stock? What about other similar parameters, such as Number of units in a pack?
Check the differences between those parameters in the table below:
Parameter | Parameter description |
---|---|
Number of products in the set | Parameter description This is the number of units of a given product in one set. We display this parameter for every product in a set. |
Quantity | Parameter description The number of units in stock. If it goes down to zero, your offer will be terminated or relisted ― depending on your settings. |
Example: Your set consists of one product ― a pack of 4 pens. One set consists of 2 units of this product, meaning there are 8 pens. The Number of products in the set parameter value is: 2. You have 10 such sets in stock, which means you have 20 product units and 80 pens. The Quantity parameter value is: 10.
Why can't I change the parameters for other products in a set?
We want to gather information on all products available on Allegro in the Allegro Product Catalog. That is why we will complete the product parameters for you when you link your offers to the Catalog.
If you think the product you want to link your offer to has incorrect product information ― you can ask us to update them. We will verify your report within 48 hours. Check how it works.
In some of my active offers I sell several products at the same time or several units of one product. What about them?
If you want, you can edit those offers and start selling those products in sets ― just like you could do for your new offers.
Does the product set have to consist only of the products which are available in the Allegro Product Catalog?
Yes. If you cannot find your product in the Catalog, you can create it. List it in a new offer. Next, add the newly created product to your set.
What if other products in the set have a different Condition parameter than the main product?
Then, you cannot create a product set with such products. All products in a set should have the same Condition parameter value. In the listing form, you can provide this parameter only for the main product ― but it applies to all products in the set.
How do you charge the sales commission for product sets?
Sales commission is calculated for the category where you list your offer ― which matches the main product.
Example: You list an offer with a smartphone as its main product. We will charge you the sales commission applicable to the Smartphones and Mobile Phones category.
What if the product parameters are incorrect and I cannot change them?
Report the information to be updated to us. We will verify your report within 2 business days.
What information should I provide in the offer description?
As an offer consists of an entire set, describe all products which are a part of your set.
What offer title should I give the offer with a product set?
You do not need to use the word zestaw (Polish for set or bundle), because buyers will see it next to the offer title. All you need to do is combine product names in the title, for example: iPhone 8 + case. If your title exceeds the character limit and you need to make it shorter, make sure you provide the main product name. To describe remaining products in the set, you can write something like + 3 inne produkty (+ 3 other products) or use keywords. Check out our tips on how to create a good offer title. Note: Aside from the offer title, we automatically create the name of the set. Buyers can see it, among others, in search results. The name of the set consists of the main product name and, optionally, the + [x] inne produkty ([x] other products) note.
What happens if the product I have in my set disappears from the Catalog or changes significantly?
- If it concerns the main product ― we will unlink your offer from all products and treat it as an uncataloged offer. We will not change the offer title, images, parameters, or description.
- If it concerns another product in a set ― we will unlink that specific product from the set. We will not change the offer title, images, parameters, or description.
If we unlink your offer from the product, we will let you know about it by email.
What if I a sell multiple units of the same product in my offers, but do not use sets?
We may automatically mark such active buy now Offers as product sets. We will only do this if you list Offers in the selected categories and we are sure that you are actually offering many units of a given product. We will inform you about any such change by e-mail. How can I list product sets in automotive subcategories?
In the automotive subcategories, you can list a set that consists of many units of a single product.
You can list sets consisting of several different products in select automotive subcategories.
Can I list a product set created by the manufacturer?
Yes. In that case, you do not need to add every element of that set as a separate product. Sets created by the manufacturer come with their own EAN (GTIN) codes or manufacturer's codes. We mark them as product sets at once in the Product Catalog:
If you use ready-made sets from the manufacturer, you can be sure that the products in the set are consistent and complement each other. Often they are packaged together, for example, in an elegant box with the manufacturer’s logo. This can make them more attractive to customers.
