Tips on how to sell in the Groceries category
When selling food on Allegro, you must remember about the applicable laws. You must also provide specific information in the product description.
Existing legal provisions
Selling food ― both in brick and mortar stores and online ― is regulated by numerous legal provisions. They determine, for example, what the nutrition facts label should include. Trading with some foods is subject to separate, detailed regulations. Importing foods produced outside Poland is subject to restrictions, too.
If you plan to sell foods on Allegro, make sure you do that according to regulations relevant to items you offer. The hints below are general in nature and do not constitute a summary of legal provisions which trading with foods in Poland is subject to. On Allegro it is prohibited to sell
- tobacco products intended for different purposes than collectible
- drugs, intoxicants, psychoactive substances or their substitutes.
Useful information for buyers in the offer description
Provide the buyers with extensive information about your product ― an informed customer is more likely to place an order, so in the offer description provide such details about your product as:
- net weight
- ingredients
- production date and expiration date
- manufacturer.
Perishable goods and delivery by their expiration date
In case of perishable goods, on the offer page describe all the steps you will take to make the item reach the buyer safely. Make sure all foods are delivered before they expire.
Who can list items in the Gold Coins up to the year 1800, Gold Collectible Coins, and Investment Products categories?
If you want to list items in the categories Collector's Gold Coins and Investment Products, you can do it in two ways: send an application or conclude a separate agreement with Allegro. In the category Gold coins up to 1800 can issue without these requirements.
Gold Coins up to the year 1800
If you want to list items in the Gold Coins up to the year 1800 category – simply list an offer.
Gold Collectible Coins, and Investment Products (except the Scrap silver and gold subcategory)
You can list Gold Collectible Coins and Investment Products (excluding the Scrap silver and gold subcategory) only on regular Allegro.
If you want to do it, conclude a separate agreement with Allegro within the Collector’s Zone Program or send your application to invest@allegro.pl and provide:
- company name (if you are an entrepreneur)
- name of account (login) on which you want to sell investment products and gold collectible coins.

When you can list an item in the Investment Products category
In the Investment Products category, you can list items whose bullion value is at least 50% of the item value. If the bullion value is lower – list your item in the Numismatics category.
Scrap silver and gold
In the Scrap silver and gold subcategory, you can list items that fit the Investment Products category, but do not fit any other subcategory, and their only value is the bullion value. Offers of such items do not need to meet general requirement of the Investment Products category.
Payout delays
We care a great deal about transaction safety, so if you list and sell items in the Gold Collectible Coins or Investment Products categories – the payouts from Allegro Finance may be delayed for the account in which you sell in those categories.
