Sales commission for featured offers – frequently asked questions
We charge an additional commission for sales in highlighted offers. Check the answers to common questions about this commission – for example, how and when we calculate it.
1. How do you calculate an additional sales commission for featured offers?
We calculate it each time the sale is made, similarly to the standard sales commission.
An additional sales commission for featured offers is the same for regular and business accounts. It amounts to 0.75 of the sales commission in a given category, as stipulated in Appendix no. 4 to the Allegro Terms and Conditions – Part IV. Fees for additional options.
Sales commission for featured offers is accounted for on your billing as a separate position (besides the standard sales commission). We charge fees for additional services separately.
2. In what categories does the additional sales commission for featured offers apply?
It applies in the categories covered by the regular sales commission.
3. For what promotion options do you charge an additional sales commission?
We charge an additional sales commission for all offers with the following promotion options active: Feature, Flexible Feature, Promo Package (Feature + Bold + Highlight).
4. Does the additional sales commission for featured offers apply to all account types?
Yes, the additional sales commission is applicable both to the regular accounts and business accounts.
5. Will I get the transaction rebate (sales commission refund) if the transaction is not completed successfully?
We refund the additional sales commission according to the same regulations as the standard sales commission.
6. I have a package of free features. Will the additional sales commission apply to the offers where I use those free features?
Yes, the free feature package reduces only the fixed cost of listing a featured offer.
7. Can I disable featuring an ongoing offer?
Yes, you can disable featuring offers at any time. However, remember that paid fees are non-refundable.
8. Does the sales commission for featured offers include the delivery cost?
The sales commission for the featured offer is charged on the basis of the basic sales commission. If the buyer pays for the purchase, the basic sales commission will include the delivery cost. From that amount, we will calculate the additional sales commission.
Recurring fee charging ― frequently asked questions
You can easily manage your promotions on ongoing offers due to fee charging recurring every 10 days. The 10-day cycle does not apply to the Feature + Bold + Highlight bundle.
1. What is recurring fee charging?
Fee charging recurring every 10 days allows you to easily manage promoting ongoing offers, especially if the offer lasts until items are exhausted. The 10-day-long cycle does not apply to thePromo Package or the Flexible Feature − we charge you for them every day.
Thanks to that, you can enable or disable every promotion option at any moment, and settle each option in independent 10-day cycles.
2. What does it mean that the fees are charged in cycles?
One charge cycle is 10 days. When you promote your offer, we will charge you for the first cycle in advance. If you promote the same offer after 10 days, we will charge you for another 10 day cycle.
3. What happens if I enable promotion while the offer is ongoing?
If you enable promotion in an ongoing offer, we will create a separate charge cycle for it. You can check it in the Settlements with Allegro tab, in the Operations history section.
4. Will you refund the promotion fee after I disable promotion?
No. You can disable promotion at any given time of the cycle, but it does not affect the fee charged at the beginning of the cycle.
5. I disabled a paid promotion within 12 hours of listing the offer. Will it be refunded?
No. Promotion fees are non-reimbursable and charged in advance.
6. How to make sure that the promotion fee is not charged in the next cycle?
Disable offer promotion shortly before the end of the current promotion cycle. You can do it immediately or plan it for the end of the current billing cycle. You can do it while editing the offer or directly in the My Assortment tab.
You can check upcoming fees for features in your offer in the Upcoming fees tab.
7. How to check when the promotion cycle ends?
You can check it in the Settlements with Allegro tab, in the Operations history section. The cycle lasts 10 days from the moment you are charged with the promotion fee.
Additionally, you can check upcoming fees in your offers in the Upcoming fees tab.
8. What duration times can I set for my offers and auctions?
Offers: 3, 5, 7, 10, 20, or 30 days, or until items are exhausted.
Auctions: 3, 5, 7, or 10 days.
How is the sales commission calculated
The amount of sales commission depends on several factors - including the price of the product and the category in which it was listed.
What the sales commission amount depends on
The sales commission amount is not the same for all offers. It depends on:
- the final price for which you sell the product — that is the highest bid in an auction or the buy now price
- the category in which you list a given product
- the number of products sold in a given offer — in multi-product offers, multiply the sales commission for 1 unit by the number of sold units
- whether the buyer pays for the delivery.
When charging the sales commission amount, apart from the price of the product, we will also take into account its delivery cost. If the buyer does not pay for the delivery — because it costs 0 PLN or the purchase is made within Allegro Smart! — we will not add its cost to the sales commission amount.
If the buyer makes a purchase within Allegro Smart! and selects the POD option — they will pay 4.99 PLN for each parcel in the order. We will take it into account while charging the sales commission.
Example — selling one product with Allegro Smart! delivery
You sell a product worth 100 PLN from a category covered by a 6% sales commission. Your customer chooses delivery to a pick-up point within Allegro Smart! The 6% sales commission of 100 PLN is therefore 6 PLN. The delivery option selected by the buyer is free of charge — that is why the sales commission will include only the product cost.
Example — selling multiple products in one transaction
You sell a product worth 100 PLN from a category covered by the 6% sales commission together with a product worth 50 PLN from a category covered with the 8% sales commission. For those two products, your customer chooses delivery for 18 PLN. The delivery cost will be divided between the purchased products 9 PLN each. The 6% sales commission of 109 PLN is 6.54 PLN. The 8% sales commission of 59 PLN is 4.72 PLN.
When we charge the sales commission
We charge the sales commission at the moment when the customer makes a purchase in your offer — that means when they win an auction or use the buy now option. We round up the sales commission to 0.01 PLN.
Sales commission in featured offers
If you sell a product in an offer with the active Feature, Flexible Feature, or Promo Package — we will charge an additional sales commission. Check the details.
Categories
We do not charge the sales commission in the following categories: Cars, Motorcycles and Quads, Other Vehicles and Boats, Trailers, Semitrailers, Construction Machines, Real Estate, Services, Vacations, and Live Animals. It means that in those categories you will only pay for listing an offer.
Fee and commission calculator
Use the fee and commission calculator to quickly and easily calculate the exact sales commission amount that applies in a given category. If you are using external tools to manage your sales — you can check fee rates through the API.
What transaction rebate (sales commission refund) you will get if the buyer returns a part of the order
If the buyer returns a part of the order and you meet the conditions, we will grant you a transaction rebate for the returned products and the appropriate share of delivery costs.
Example
You sell a product worth 100 PLN from a category covered by the 6% sales commission together with a product worth 50 PLN from a category covered with the 8% sales commission. For those two products, your customer chooses delivery for 18 PLN. The delivery cost is distributed between the purchased items at 9 PLN each. The 6% sales commission of 109 PLN is 6.54 PLN. The 8% sales commission of 59 PLN is 4.72 PLN. However, the buyer returns the first product — that is why we grant you a 6.54 PLN transaction rebate.
Since we charge one sales commission — we do not separate it into the part of the product value and the part of delivery costs. Therefore, if you request a transaction rebate (sales commission refund), it will apply to the entire sales commission for a given transaction, not a part of its cost. You can request the transaction rebate (sales commission refund) under the existing rules.
We will add the commission for promoting the offer to the final sales commission amount (including delivery costs). Check how we calculate the commission.
The sales commission amount depends on the final price of the product you sell and the delivery option selected by the buyer. In the case of auctions, the buyer is obliged to complete the delivery form and pay for the order within 7 days. If they fail to do this, we will charge the sales commission only for the product, excluding delivery costs.
You can check that on your account — in the Operations History section of the Settlements with Allegro tab.
The fee and commission calculator will help you calculate the listing fee and the sales commission. The quote presented will be for orders with free delivery.
Thanks to the appropriate API resources, you can calculate fees for a given offer. Learn more.
