Your settlements with Allegro
What do the terms: income, fees, and balance mean in my bills?
Income is the amount transferred to your Allegro account, fees are dues for sales and paid options, and balance is the current state of your account.
Wpływy (income) – payments transferred to your Allegro account. In this section, you can find information about your payments for Allegro services, pre-payments, and refunded commissions.
Opłaty (fees) – an amount of money charged for item listing and selling, and for using payable services at item listing.
Saldo (balance) – your account balance at any given moment – after summing up your payments, prepayments, listing fees, commissions, and additional service fees. Your balance can be positive or negative. The balance field shows how much money you need to transfer to our bank account. We will inform you that you need to pay the Allegro bill by email.
How fast will you book my payment?
The amount of time funds will reach our account depends on the payment method. The fastest way to get a payment is from the Settlements with Allegro tab.
The amount of time that passes between you making a payment and us depositing it depends on the payment type:
- Fast online payments are booked the fastest. This transfer type may be booked in your sub-account even within an hour (on business days, between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., and for the BPH bank clients ― between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.). Payments made at other times or on the weekends are booked on the following business day.
- An elixir-type bank transfer is accounted for on Allegro within a few hours of transferring the funds to the recipient’s (PayU S.A.) bank account.
- We deposit the funds transferred via the regular bank transfer within 1 to 4 days of the payment.
- The postal orders and agency money orders are booked within 14 days.
- We receive payments transferred to the collection agency account within 7 business days.
Can I retrieve an excess payment from my account?
If you deposit more funds to your Allegro balance, you can get them back. To do this, go to the relevant tab and follow the instructions.
Yes. If your account balance is positive, we will transfer an excess payment to your bank account. Your account balance is positive if, for example, you paid more than you were due, or you received a transaction rebate (sales commission refund) after paying your invoice as a result of an uncompleted transaction.
How to retrieve an excess payment
- Open the Settlements with Allegro tab.
- Click [collect overpayment].
- Select one of the following repayment options:
- domestic transfer
- international transfer
and complete the form.
Important
- We calculate your excess payment amount by subtracting all fees and commissions from the amount you paid. We do not consider payments made in connection to the promotions of Allegro sp. z o.o. and its partners.
- If another account or accounts registered with the same details have overdue payments pending, a part of the funds (up to a maximum of the account balance) will be redirected to pay the overdue payments.
- If your payment differs from the amount due on your account significantly, we will consider it an error and return it to you by the same payment method (for example, to a payment card).
You can also use the excess payment to
- pay your fees resulting from listing offers in the future
- transfer it to another Allegro account ― to do this, click [contact us] below this article.
Split payment – frequently asked questions
Split payment – a payment for the invoice is divided into the net amount and the VAT amount, which goes to a separate VAT account.
Frequently asked questions
- 1. What is a split payment?
- 2. When am I obliged to use the split payment?
- 3. When will the buyer see the split payment option?
- 4. How do I know if the buyer has chosen the split payment to pay for their purchase?
- 5. What do I need to do as a seller to complete the split payment?
- 6. Split payment in Allegro REST API
- 7. Will Allegro answer my other questions concerning the split payment?
1. What is a split payment?
The Act of August 9, 2019, amending the Act on Goods and Services Tax and certain other acts (available only in Polish) introduced a split payment obligation for specified transactions from November 1, 2019.
With the split payment, the invoice payment is divided into the net amount and the VAT amount, which is transferred to a separate VAT account. The mechanism of split payment, in a voluntary form, has been functioning in Poland since July 1, 2018.
In order to allow sellers and buyers to settle their transactions with Allegro in accordance with the requirements of the Act, we enabled the split payment as a new payment method.
2. When am I obliged to use the split payment?
You need to do it when:
- both the seller and the buyer are VAT payers
- the purchased item is from one of the categories stipulated in the Appendix no. 15 to the Act on Goods and Services Tax (available only in Polish), or
- the invoice amount is or exceeds 15,000 PLN gross.
3. When will the buyer see the split payment option?
If the total order value from one seller is or exceeds 15,000 PLN, the buyer (regardless of whether they buy from a regular or a business account) will see the Split payment next to other available payment options.
They will also see this option when they make a purchase from more than one seller, and the total value of orders from only some of the sellers is or exceeds 15,000 PLN.
4. How do I know if the buyer has chosen the split payment to pay for their purchase?
You always receive information about the payment method chosen by the buyer in the email notifying about the sale. You can also find this information in the Orders tab, next to a given sale. If the buyer chooses the split payment, remember to issue an invoice or send the necessary information for the buyer to make the transfer (including the gross amount and the VAT amount).
5. What do I need to do as a seller to complete the split payment?
If the buyer decides to pay with the split payment, issue an invoice for that purchase or send the buyer information necessary to make a transfer (including the gross amount and the VAT amount).
Remember
The buyer cannot pay with the split payment through Allegro Finance. Instead, the buyer transfers the funds according to the instructions you send them. It means we will not automatically update the payment status in Allegro Finance. However, you can change order status in the Orders tab manually.
Remember that regardless of the buyer’s decision, you need to evaluate whether your invoice is subject to split payment. Your obligations as the seller are stipulated in the Act of August 9, 2019, amending the Act on Goods and Services Tax and certain other acts (available only in Polish), especially art. 106e of the amended Act on Goods and Services Tax.
6. Split payment in Allegro REST API
We have updated the data which are returned by two Allegro REST API resources to handle the orders. Now, in the resources:
- GET /order/checkout-forms (downloading orders list)
- GET /order/checkout-forms/{id} (downloading order details), for orders in which the buyer chooses the split payment, the new value ("SPLIT_PAYMENT") of the field “payment.type” will be available.
7. Will Allegro answer my other questions concerning the split payment?
For further information about split payment and the Polish tax law, contact a tax advisor or check the website of the Polish Ministry of Finance.
