How to list an offer in a different category than the one assigned to the product from the Catalog
Find out what collections of similar categories are and how they work
When you list an offer linked to a product from our Catalog, it appears in the category we have selected. If you want to change it, you can select another one from a set of similar categories.
What a set of similar categories is
We have combined similar categories into sets. Within such a set, you can list offers linked to the same product in different categories.
Example
You list reflective bands in your offer. When you select a product from our Catalog, your offer will be automatically assigned to the Kids — Mother and Baby Accessories — Safety — Reflectors category. You can change it, for example, to Sports and Travel — Running — Hi-Vis Accessories or Sports and Travel — Bicycles and Accessories — Accessories — Hi-Vis Reflectors, as both of these are included in the set of similar categories.
What categories are included in the sets
Currently, there are several thousand categories in sets. Download the list. .
How to list an offer in category from a set
When you list your offer and select a product from the Catalog , you will see the default category assigned to this product in the Catalog. To change the category of your offer, click [edit] and select one of the categories from the set.
When you do this:
- we will not remove the previous link to the product
- we will complete the GTIN (EAN code) in accordance with the product information in the Catalog
- we will complete the selected parameters with product details
- you will complete the remaining obligatory parameters yourself.
How to add new categories to the sets
If the category in which you want to list an item linked to a product is not on the list, contact us. Our experts will check whether we can add your suggestion.
What if we reject your suggestion
If it turns out that we cannot create a set based on your suggestion, you can only link your offer to the selected product in the Catalog if:
- you change the category of your offer to from the same set as a given product or
- we change the category of that product.
Product search engine — what it is and how it works
You can use the product search engine in the listing form. Thanks to the search engine, you can find a specific product in the Catalog and use it as a base for your new offer on the platform. You can also learn more about the assortment on Allegro.
How to use the product search engine
- Go to the listing form. Enter the GTIN (EAN) in the search bar, and click [search]. Based on that, we will scan the Allegro Product Catalog to find matching products.
Check whether the product you want to sell is on the list. If not ― you can click [continue without selecting a product]. We will try to create a new product based on the information you provide in the listing form. Learn more.
Once you select the product, click it. We will display the details — a set of parameters like, for example, color — that describe the selected product. The parameters will help you decide whether you have found the right product.
We want the products available in the Catalog to be top quality. If you spot an error in the product details ― report it instead of correcting it only in the listing form. Click [report incorrect product information] on the product card.
- If the product parameters are correct and you want to list an offer based on them, click [select].

If you use the Allegro API
To find a product in the Allegro Product Catalog, use the GET/sale/products resource. Learn more.
If you know the GTIN (EAN) or the product ID, provide it in the product.id field, in the POST/sale/product-offers request structure. In that case, you will only use the product from our Catalog. We will not create a new product, even if you provide all the necessary details.
Do not complete the product.id field if you want to add a new product to the Catalog. Provide the GTIN (EAN) and other details in the product.parameters field.
Frequently asked questions
I cannot find a specific product even though I can see offers on Allegro that are linked to it.
The product in that offer may be incomplete — it may not contain all the details required for that type of assortment. In that case, contact us using the form.
I think that the product parameters are incorrect and I want to change them.
First, check if you have searched for the correct product variant. For example, if you are searching for iPhone 11, there are already several model versions. In that case, select the proper variant first.
If you are sure that the parameters are incorrect, click [report incorrect product information]. Learn more.
I have found the right product, but I cannot list the offer in the category that suits it best.
Remember that the category in which you want to list your cataloged offer and the product category have to match. If you want to change that category, you can select another one — from the set of similar categories. Check how it works.
If you think that the product category is incorrect, you can suggest its change.
How to catalog your offer
Thanks to the Allegro Product Catalog, you can shorten the time to submit an offer and gain more time for sales processing. You can combine both new and already active offers with the product.
How to connect an offer with a product
- Go to the listing form. Enter the GTIN (EAN code) into the search bar and click [search]. Based on this, we will search the Allegro Product Catalog to see whether there are matching products our the database.
- If we find them, we'll list them for you. You can filter it by categories and parameters. If you click on any product, we will display its details.
- See whether the displayed products include the one you intend to sell. If not, you can continue listing offers. We will try to create a new product based on the information you complete in the listing form. Check the details.
We want the products available in the catalog to be of the highest quality. If you notice an error in the product data — submit it instead of correcting it only in the listing form. Click [submit a product error] on the product card.
- Have you found the right product? Great. Click it and then click [select].
If you managed to select a product from the list, you will see that we have automatically completed some information. You can, however, edit most of it yourself — for example, the offer title, description, or images.
If you want to change the basic parameters , please use the product error reporting form. See how to do it. You can change the remaining parameters yourself in the listing form — editing them will not affect the connection with this product.
If you want to change the category we have suggested, click [edit] and select the one that suits you from the set of similar categories. If you select a category from outside the list, you can remove the link between the Offers and the previously selected product.
Click [List Your Offer] in the listing form. We will try to combine your offer with the right product. If you already have a product selected from the list, at this point we only check whether the parameters we have provided to you have not changed.
What happens when you edit an offer
Each time we check whether the offer is still correctly connected to the product after editing. If not, we can automatically disconnect it or change the product. We will let you know about it by e-mail within 24 hours — you will receive a list of your offers unlinked from the product. Check details.
How many offers you can combine with the same product
In certain categories, you will link up to 5 offers with the Condition parameter New to one product in the Catalog. With that, offers will be correctly linked to a product. That will also limit the possibility to list multiple identical offers linked to the same product.
This limitation does not apply to offers:
- where you provide values of the Condition parameter other than New
- merged into product sets.
How it works
If you exceed the 5-offer limit, you will see an appropriate message:
You will see it when you:
- list a new offer
- edit an ongoing offer.
If you want to list another offer with the condition New in the given categories, select a different matching product from our Catalog.

What happens if I do not link an offer to the product?
- You will not share it in foreign marketplaces — on allegro.cz, allegro.sk, and allegro.hu, you can share only offers linked to a product from the Catalog.
- Listing offers will take more time — when you select a product from the Catalog, we automatically complete the parameters for you.
- Your offer will not be marked with the GREAT PRICE badge or any other special badges that buyers will see on the offer lists.
- We may automatically end your offer. It does not apply to offers that:
- you list in categories with unique assortment — such as Collections and Art or Handicraft — where you can create temporary products
- you list as classifieds in the following categories:
- Automotive – Cars
- Automotive – Motorcycles and Quads
- Automotive – Machinery
- Automotive – Trailers, Semitrailers

It does not apply to offers that:

I sell handicraft and other unique assortment. How can I link such offers to the products from the Catalog?
If you are not able to complete all the required parameters or you sell unique products, we can create temporary products. Check how it works.
Why did you combine my offer with another product instead of creating a new product in the Catalog?
The basic parameters in the offer must create a unique combination so that our mechanisms can distinguish individual products. For example, if the basic parameters in these products are Brand and GTIN (EAN), and the products differ in the Length parameter, then for us it will still be the same product — because the basic parameters are the same.
How can I stand out? What about the options for highlighting and promoting in the offer, Smart!Coins, sets or Allegro Ads?
When the customer selects a product, they go — as before — to the list of offers with this product, where all highlighting and promoting options are fully operational.
It is also worth taking care of the factors that determine high relevance and make us display your offer higher on the list of offers, and in the best case we will choose it as an offer that represents a given product. Read our article: How we select the Top Offer.
Can I connect an offer to a product via the Allegro API?
We have made resources available in the Allegro API, thanks to which you can connect an offer with a product and add a new product. If you use external software to list your offers, ask its creator if it supports our resources for combining offers with the Allegro Product Catalog.
How can I list an offer in which I My Offers a product for free (for example, a mobile and a case)?
When you list such an offer, link it to your main product — for example, a phone. In the details of the offers , write that the customer will receive not only the mobile, but also the case.
