How the pricing rules based on Lowest price on Allegro and Lowest price on the market work
In offers that have those pricing rules pinned, you can easily keep prices competitive within a safe range you select yourself.
The Lowest price on Allegro pricing rule adjusts the product price in your offer to make it stand out among other offers of the same product on our platform. On the other hand, the Lowest price on the market rule takes into account not only other offers on Allegro, but also the best online stores.
The price will change automatically but it will never exceed the limits you select. That way, you can instantly react to changing market trends and stay confident that you will always get the right amount for a given product.
How those rules work
The Lowest price on Allegro pricing rule automatically changes the price in your offer based on:
- your product price in that offer
- the current lowest price of the product on Allegro — that we check once an hour
- the price range within which you want to change your price.
The Lowest price on the market pricing rule automatically changes the price in your offer based on:
- your product price in that offer
- the current lowest price of the product on Allegro and in the best online stores — that we check once an hour
- the price range within which you want to change your price.
If the new lowest price appears for a given product, we will update the price in your offer. We will do it only within the price range you indicate for the offer.
See the examples below
Example 1
- For an offer with the price of 20 PLN, you set the Lowest price on Allegro pricing rule. You set the price range for that offer: from 15 to 25 PLN.
- Currently, the lowest price of a given product on Allegro is 16 PLN.
- The lowest price on Allegro is within your price range — we will update your offer price to 16 PLN.
Example 2
- For an offer with the price of 20 PLN, you set the Lowest price on the market pricing rule. You set the price range for that offer: from 18 to 25 PLN.
- Currently, the lowest price of a given product on the market is 16 PLN.
- The lowest price on the market is outside your price range — we will set the lowest price from that range in your offer: 18 PLN.
Example 3
- You set the pricing rule for a new offer to Lowest price on Allegro. You set the price range for that offer: from 18 to 25 PLN.
- Currently, the lowest price of a given product on Allegro is 26 PLN.
- The lowest price on Allegro is outside your price range — we will set the lowest price from that range in your offer: 25 PLN.
If you create your own pricing rule based on the Lowest price on Allegro or Lowest price on the market, we can also add or deduct a specified price percentage or a specified amount to or from the price after its update. Learn more.
How we set the lowest price of a given product
We determine the current lowest price of a given product once an hour.
We determine the Lowest price on Allegro based on the offers with a given product that meet the following conditions:
- are active offers in the buy now format
- are linked to the Allegro Product Catalog
- come with the Condition parameter value: New — if we require that parameter in a given category
- are not product bundles
- are not available only to business customers
- come with free delivery — within Smart! or offered by the seller
- their dispatch time does not exceed the average dispatch time in a given category
- are listed by an active seller who:
- has at least Neutral sales quality level
- issues VAT invoices.
How we further ensure the reliability of pricing data
- We do not set the lowest price if the discrepancies in product prices are too large. For example, if the difference between the highest and the lowest product price exceeds 50% — we will not set the lowest price on Allegro for that product.
- We check whether the change in the lowest price does not exceed 30% of the median from the last 14 days. That way, we make sure you are not comparing the price with a limited number of sales.
We determine the Lowest price on the market based on the offers with a given product:
- on Allegro — the ones we compare within the Lowest price on Allegro pricing rule
- in the best online stores — determined according to the Similar Web report.
While comparing prices, we do not take into consideration:
- delivery costs
- discounts for bundle purchases
- the use of vouchers and gift cards
- additional discounts — for example, resulting from using coins, coupons, discount codes, or loyalty programs
- cashback promotions, in which you can get a partial refund after the purchase (for example, buy a product included in the promotion and get a bonus of up to 500 PLN).
We also do not take into account used, non-genuine, damaged, outlet, auctioned, or ex-display products.
We only compare prices in the currency of the marketplace for which you have enabled the pricing rule in your offer.
Price ranges in the pricing rules based on Lowest price on Allegro and Lowest price on the market
When you pin that rule to your offer, we will ask you to provide the price range you want to keep. In the case of foreign marketplaces, you can provide the price range in the local currency or the currency of your registration marketplace.
In the Automatic Pricing tab, we will suggest in which offers with pinned pricing rules there is no price range. You will see them in the Complete price ranges view.
If you pin the rule to many offers at the same time, you will see them in the Complete price ranges view after a few minutes.
When we update prices in offers with the Lowest price on Allegro and Lowest price on the market pricing rules
We update your offer price in the selected marketplace for the first time when:
- you pin a pricing rule to that offer
- you set the price range for that offer.
From that moment, we will update the offer price each time:
- the current lowest price of the product changes — depending on the rule: lowest price on Allegro or lowest price on the market
- you change something in the offer — for example, its visibility in the foreign marketplaces or the product from the Allegro Product Catalog it is linked to
- you edit the price range for that offer
- you edit the pricing rule pinned to that offer
- the exchange rate changes in a way that affects the price in the currency of a given marketplace — if you provide the price range in the currency of the registration marketplace.
We will always change the price only within the price range you have provided for a given offer. Until you provide the price range, we will not apply the pricing rule in the offer.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, absolutely! To determine the lowest price on the market, we also compare offers of other stores with offers on Allegro. It is possible that one of the offers on Allegro is currently the cheapest.
When that happens and you have the Lowest price on the market rule enabled in your offer — we will set the current lowest price in it. When a cheaper offer appears in one of the selected stores, we will update your price during the next comparison.
Example
- You set the Lowest price on the market pricing rule in your offer and enter a price range from 99 to 110 PLN.
- Currently, the lowest price of a given product on Allegro is 100 PLN.
- The lowest price in the online stores we include in the comparison is 109 PLN. It is higher than the lowest price on Allegro. This means that the lowest price of that product on the market is the same as the lowest price on Allegro — that is, 100 PLN.
- We confirm that the price of 100 PLN is within the range you have set and we set that price in your offer.
- On the next day, the price in one of the competing stores changes to 99 PLN. It means that the lowest price on the market is now 99 PLN and is no longer equal to the lowest price on Allegro.
- We confirm that the new price of 99 PLN is within the range you have set and we set that price in your offer.
If we do not set the lowest price for a given product — the rule will not work. Then, we will not update the price in your offer until we are able to set the new lowest price of a given product. This applies to both Lowest price on Allegro and Lowest price on the market.
If you list an offer with such a product and try to pin the Lowest price on Allegro or Lowest price on the market rule to that offer — we will inform you about it. Then, you will enter your own price. It will be displayed in the offer until we set the lowest price for that product.
We will change your price only when an offer with a competitive price is listed. If there are no offers we could compare your offer with — we will raise your price to the upper limit of the range you set. Thanks to that, you will achieve the maximum profit possible while keeping your offer with a given product the cheapest on Allegro.
