Starting September 15, we will require using product data from the Product Catalog in some of the new offers
This change will help you to list offers faster and gain more time to manage your sales. Learn more.
Update from October 22
We have reversed the changes described below. It means that we no longer require using product data from the Product Catalog in new offers. When you list an offer through the form and link it with a product, we will automatically complete some information — but you can edit most of them in the form, for example, the offer's name, description, or photos.
Products from a trusted source are the ones whose data:
- has been authorized by the manufacturer or the trademark owner, or
- comes from another trusted source.
In the listing form, we highlight them with a green badge and a padlock icon.
What will change on September 15
If you link your offer with a product from a trusted source in the listing form, we will automatically complete:
- product name — we will display it over the image and description on the product page
- parameters marked as trusted — such as the GTIN (EAN code) or Brand
- offer description
- images.
You will not be able to edit that data in your offer.
We will not require you to use that data if you edit your offer in the My Assortment tab.
What if you believe the product data is incorrect
If it is a product from a trusted source, use the contact form. In other cases, you can submit your suggestions as usual — through the product change request form.
Why we are doing it
We want the data gathered in the Product Catalog to be consistent. This helps us display offers with correct information that does not mislead buyers. Customers will find it easier to compare offers with a given product and make a shopping decision, and sellers will be able to list offers faster — because they will not need to complete parameters or create descriptions. Offers of a single product will only have different information regarding sales terms, such as price, stock, or delivery options.
