Sales break
How the Sales break option works
When you want to temporarily pause your offers, you can use the Sales break option. This way, you will quickly and conveniently suspend your sales, for example, for the time you are away. After 30 days, the offers will reactivate automatically.
How the Sales break option works
Thanks to the Sales break option, you can terminate all your active offers with one click — it applies to both the offers on allegro.pl and those shared in other marketplaces.
When you suspend offers using the Sales break option, buyers will not place new orders until you end the sales break. Thanks to that, you can be sure that when you are absent, no new orders will appear or negatively impact your sales quality if you do not handle them.
The sales break on your account will end:
- automatically — after 30 days
- once you end it manually in the tab — within 30 days.
After that time, we will relist all your offers suspended within the sales break. See how it works.
Sales break is not available in the One Fulfillment service
If you are using the One Fulfillment service, you can suspend your offers on your own. You can do it by editing offers in bulk in the My Assortment tab.
How to set the Sales break
Open the Sales break tab.
Go to the Start of the break and select whether you want to suspend sales now or on a selected date. Set the selected starting date in the calendar.
Click [request a break].
- Confirm that you want to change the status of your offers.
- Done! In a few (up to several dozen) minutes we will suspend all your offers. If you specify the starting date of suspension, we will start suspending offers at 0:00 a.m. on the day you select.
If there are some that cannot be terminated, you will see a notification with their list and a link to edit them.
Rescheduling the Sales break
If you want to call off or reschedule the Sales break, click [abort suspension]. You will be able to schedule it again.
What is next
All your active offers will be terminated. We will not display them for buyers until you restart sales.
During the Sales break, we will display the message on your seller card and your offer list:
Active auctions will be terminated with the result obtained at the moment that you suspend sales — according to the rules of auction.
Sales break does not apply to offers with a scheduled listing date. Such offers will be activated on the date you set — even during your sales break.
After you set the Sales break option, you can still edit offers and add new ones. the offers you add after setting or scheduling the Sales break will not be suspended automatically. To suspend newly added offers you can:
- terminate them manually — if you do that, you will have to activate them manually as well (disabling the Sales break will not relist such offers)
- disable the ongoing Sales break and set it again for all offers.
How to resume sales and disable the Sales break
You can relist terminated offers within 30 days. This way, you will keep their original URLs and proportional popularity. We will automatically relist your offers after 30 days.
To end the sales break and relist all offers, open the Sales break tab and click [activate sales]. All the offers and offer bundles active before the sales break will be activated again. As with the sales suspension, we will let you know if we cannot relist some of your offers.
You cannot relist a classified ad.
Remember to link your offers to the Allegro Product Catalog before resuming sales. Also, check if your offers do not lack any obligatory parameters. If you do not link your offers to the Catalog or if you do not complete the obligatory parameters, your offers will not relist.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, during the Sales break you can still edit your offers and add new ones. New offers that you add after setting the Sales break option will not be automatically suspended. If you want to suspend such offers, you can:
- terminate them manually — if you do that, you will have to activate them manually as well (disabling the Sales break will not relist such offers)
- disable the Sales break and set it again — it will cover newly added offers.
Active auctions will finish according to auction rules — with the result they had in the moment of setting the Sales break. The buyer who placed the highest bid at the moment of suspending a given offer will be the winner.
Auctions with no bids from buyers will also finish but you will not be able to resume them in the Sales break option. You will see a list of such auctions in the report you get after resuming sales — from there you can go to edit them.
When you click [activate sales], we will only relist offers suspended with the Sales break option. We will not relist offers added later — you will have to do it on your own.
Manual offer suspension and Sales break are two different options. If you terminate offers in the Sales break tab, the Sales break will be activated despite the changes you made in offers manually. The Sales Break will finish when you click [activate sales].
That means you will see the [activate sales] button until you disable the Sales break — no matter if you added or edited offers manually after setting it. Remember that clicking [activate sales] will only affect offers terminated with that option and will change nothing in offers added or edited manually later.
To use the Sales break option again, the previous break must be finished first. To disable the ongoing Sales break, click [activate sales]. Then, you will see the [sreport a break] button in the Sales break tab again.
If you want to add new offers after setting the Sales break option and suspend them manually, you can distinguish them by using labels. You can do it in the My Assortment tab.
Charging fees for promotion will work just like in the case of suspending offers manually in the My Assortment tab. We will not be charging fees for Features in suspended offers. We do, however, store information about the cycle of charging fees (for listing, promoting, and additional options) for a given offer.
When you relist an offer, we will restore the Feature — and the fees. The exact time of charging the fees depends on the cycle:
- if it is over — we will start a new cycle again — as soon as you activate the offer
- if it is still on — in that case, we will not change the cycle and charge the fee immediately — we will charge it according to the cycle that began.
Depending on the number of your offers, it may take from a few to several dozen minutes to suspend them. When the process is over, we will display a report showing the number of terminated offers and links to offers we failed to terminate.
If you specify the starting date of the Sales break, we will start suspending offers at 0:00 a.m. on the day you select.
It may happen if:
- you added new offers after setting the Sales break — we do not suspend such offers automatically
- some offers had a scheduled listing date — they were inactive when you set the Sales break and activated according to the schedule, despite the Sales break.
When you enable the new function, check if any of the offers has the active status. If you want to suspend a single offer, you can do it on your own.
Sales break allows you to take a break from handling new orders, however, you should take care of customers that have already made a purchase. If you do not want your sales quality to drop, you have to handle older orders at various stages of fulfillment — that is why you are obliged to handle the refund. Same goes for open Discussions and messages.
Yes. All you need to do is specify the starting date in the Sales break tab and click [order suspension]. We will set the Sales break on your account and start suspending offers at 0:00 a.m. on the day you select.
However, after you are back from holiday, you will have to resume sales manually — you can do it with just one click in the same tab.
When you click [activate sales], you will relist offers that were active when you suspended sales. If you want to relist offers you added and terminated after that moment, you can do it on tour own.
Some offers may have stopped meeting the conditions for listing. Check if:
- you completed all obligatory parameters
- you linked those offers to the Allegro Product Catalog.
We will not resume auctions where no buyer placed a bid.
You will see a list of offers that were not relisted in the report you get after resuming sales — from there you can go to edit them.
Suspending offers with the Sales break option affects the popularity of your offers just like suspending them manually in the My Assortment tab. Popularity is the number of purchases made from a given offer within the last 30 days. If you relist an offer before 30 days have passed since it was suspended — you will maintain its popularity proportionally. For example, if you relist an offer after 20 days, we will calculate its popularity from the last 10 days of its duration.
We calculate your sales quality score based on data from the last 30 days, for at least 1 active offer. That is why, 30 days after all offers are terminated, you will see no score in the My Sales Quality dashboard. We will recalculate it once you activate your sales again.
If your break is shorter than 30 days, we will calculate the score in the My Sales Quality proportionally based on your last actions before suspending sales. Remember that in the dashboard we display the score calculated for the previous day.
Yes, you can extend the delivery times you declare. However, our algorithm that estimates delivery time uses data from different sources and may not take fully into account the new declaration. That is why the buyer may see a delivery time shorter than the one you set.
Yes, we want to add new elements to the Sales break option. We will take into account the needs and suggestions regarding that option that you share on main channels of communication and discussion about Allegro. Let us know how we can improve the Sales break option!
We want the sellers to enjoy their free time when on holiday! Sellers who used the Vacation option still had to fulfill orders buyers placed — despite the information about the absence. In a similar way, not answering a query about a listed product could lower the rating in the My Sales Quality dashboard or lead to losing the Super Seller status.
The new option solves this problem. After setting Sales break, you will not receive new orders nor queries about suspended offers. Therefore, you do not have to fulfill orders at once to maintain your sales quality. Sales break also solves another problem that had been reported frequently — the necessity to resume single offers in the My Assortment tab one by one. Now, you can do it with one click.
We will keep developing the Sales break option and adding new features — to make scheduling and using it even more convenient.
