What product variants are
Product variants are different versions of the same product. Usually, they differ by color, size, or weight.
We create them automatically based on the Allegro Product Catalog. With that, we automatically combine all variants of a given product available on Allegro and display them in offers.
Which offers we display product variants in
We display them in certain offers in selected categories. We do that only in offers with products for which we have product variants in our Allegro Product Catalog.
We replace offer variants with product variants in some offers in those categories. That means in those categories, we showcase the variants of products in all offers ― provided we have them in the Catalog. If you list multi-variant offers in those categories, we also replace them with product variants.
What if you list offers in a category where we display product variants
- If other sellers have a product variant you lack — we may display it in your offer.
- If you sell a product variant other sellers lack — we may display it in their offers. The more variants of a given product you have, the more likely we are to display them in the offers of other sellers.
- Featuring offers will work as usual — your featured offer will be high up on the list of offers. When buyers open it, they will also see product variants from other sellers — if they offer a product variant you do not sell.
How buyers see product variants
- Buyers see all available product variants on your offer page. If you do not have them in your assortment, we display other sellers' variants in your offer.
- When the buyer switches from your offer to the product variant offered by another seller, we display the following message: The seller and the offer terms have changed for the selected variant.
- Buyers can decide whether they want to see other sellers' product variants in your offers. We will display the Show variants from other sellers option above product variants in the offer. Once they disable it, they will see only your products.
How we combine variants
If a given product is available in several size variants, we show one variant for each color in selected categories on the product list. It includes all available sizes of this product. We do not display a single Size parameter value, but a range of sizes. We display all available product variants when the buyer clicks [compare X offers]. Then, we show the list of all offers linked to this product, in all sizes.
Example
You sell shoes of a popular brand in several sizes and the following colors: black, white, and red. On the product list, we display the color variants of this product — black, white, and red — separately. We provide the range of sizes: 36–41. The buyer clicks [compare 70 offers] next to the selected color variant and sees all offers with shoes available in sizes from this range.
We also show information about variants — different versions of the same product — on the list of offers linked to the selected product. The buyer will see:
- parameters specific to the given product — such as Brand or Color
images of the product variants from the Allegro Product Catalog.
The buyer can use the filters above the list of offers and, for example, select the size they are searching for. If the field is grayed out, no seller has this variant in their assortment at the moment.
When we display product variants on the list of offers with a given product
We display the section with available product variants on condition that we have these variants in the Allegro Product Catalog.
How you can improve your product variants
If you notice that the displayed variants are incomplete or incorrect, link your offers in the Multi-Variant Offers tab. Let us know if you do not see any changes after 24 hours. Fill in the template below and indicate which offers we should group into a variant.

Frequently asked questions
Product variants are different versions of the same product (for example, color-wise) that we have automatically linked to each other in the Allegro Product Catalog. Thanks to the product variants, buyers can see all the variants of a given product and not only the ones linked by the seller.
Product variants can differ depending on the category — we create them based on the specific parameters that describe the features of the assortment sold in that category. Example: different colors of the same mobile model or different sizes of the same shoe may be the product variants.
On the product page, we display all the variants of a given product — also those offered by other sellers. We want buyers to find on Allegro exactly what they are searching for, in every version available.
If you offer all the variants of a given product, we will not display other sellers' offers in your offer — we will display only your variants. We may only display other sellers' offers if you lack a given variant of the product — in that case, we will display the missing variant from another seller.
You cannot link the offer to the product variant yourself. We create product variants automatically based on the Allegro Product Catalog. That is why, we also present the variants from other sellers on the product page. That means your offer does not match the variant according to our criteria.
If you want us to present your offers as product variants, you need to:
- link your offers to the Allegro Product Catalog
- make sure the products in your assortment remain available.
We do not change anything in that regard. You will pay for the services according to the applicable Featured offers and Deal Zone price lists.
No. Unlike offer variants, product variants concern particular products — we create them automatically based on the Allegro Product Catalog. If you sell all the variants of a given product, we will display them, provided that you list them on the same account. Otherwise, we will select an offer representing the product, based on the criteria you can read about here. That is why we may select your offer from another account.
We select an offer representing a given product based on the criteria you can read about here.
If the buyer first displays the offer of seller A and then goes to seller B by clicking the variant tiles — they will still see the initial variant arrangement, as it was in seller A's offer. We will also display the variant from seller A — so the buyer can return to it.
Additionally, when the buyer checks the variant tiles, the offers in the tiles will not change. Check the example of a buyer who displays seller A's offer — a white iPhone. That seller has no other variants. Then, the buyer clicks the tile with the black iPhone and we display the offer from seller B. In the variant tiles, we still show the white iPhone from seller A so the buyer can go back to it (we do not change the initial tile arrangement).
That depends on the category. We create the definition of a variant group based on the parameters/images in a selected category. These parameters may differ from the identifying ones (they may coincide 100%, partially, or not at all).
If you want us to present your offers as product variants, you also need to:
- link your offers to the Allegro Product Catalog (to the product that describes them best),
- make sure the products in your assortment remain available.
It will not affect them directly. In the case of the offer popularity — it will not change. We will still use the popularity on the list of offers.
When it comes to the offer variants' popularity and its summing up on the list of offers — the popularity will still be summed up. We do not sum up the product popularity within the same product group — we base it on particular products.
We do not remove offer variants. In specific categories, we will hide them on the product pages, because in some of the categories:
product variants will replace offer variants. We will display product variants in all the offers in which it is possible. If a seller has multi-variant offers in those categories, we will replace them with product variants. The list of categories in which product variants will replace offer variants.
product variants will not replace offer variants. That means we will display product variants only in the offers where sellers do not have offer variants. If a seller lists multi-variant offers in those categories, nothing will change for them. We will display those offers as usual. The list of categories in which product variants will replace offer variants.
There may be several reasons why we do not display your offer:
- your offer with the red variant of the product is not linked to the Product Catalog
- your offer is linked to the product from the Catalog, but the product is in another category with no product variants available
- your offer is linked to the product from the Catalog but its obligatory parameters are not completed.
