How to sell in the Alcohol category
You can sell alcoholic beverages if you have the appropriate license. The sale of alcohol is subject to separate rules and is only possible if you operate a stationary point of sale with alcohol.
If you want to sell in the Alcohol category, you must:
- have a business account
- have the appropriate authorizations, which we will verify
- operate a brick-and-mortar retail outlet
- offer the option of in-person pickup at your point of sale and a special DPD delivery method: Allegro courier for age-restricted products.
During delivery, the courier will check the sobriety and age of the recipient of the shipment and the PIN code that the buyer will receive from the carrier. Age verification is based solely on a physical document (passport, driver's license, ID card) – it is not possible in the mObywatel app.
What else is worth knowing
- You can sell alcohol on Smart! and outside of the service. For a customer to be eligible for Smart! delivery, the order value from a single seller must be at least PLN 65. Learn more.
- You can also set up free delivery for orders above a certain amount.
- The commission on sales in the Alcohol category is 5% net (6.15% gross).
- The Alcohol category is only available on allegro.pl.
- It is not possible to ship orders containing alcohol from Poland abroad or from abroad to Poland.
- You can withdraw money from sales from the Funds and transaction history tab once the courier has collected the parcel from you or once you have marked in the Orders tab that the customer has collected the order in person. This applies to the amount for the entire order containing products from the Alcohol category.
- Separate rules apply in the Alcohol category with regard to sales support offers.
What licenses do you need and how will we verify them
To sell alcoholic beverages on Allegro, you must have a license to sell the type of alcohol in question at your brick-and-mortar point of sale. The license must be issued in Poland.

Once we sign the agreement, we will email you a form in which you will:
- add a scan of your license or licenses – to sell all types of alcohol, you must have 3 types of licenses – add each type of license separately
- you will add a scan of the license fee
- you will confirm that you meet the requirements of the law and our terms and conditions.
We will inform you of the verification result by email within 2–3 days.
Additional information
- 30 days before your license expires, we will ask you to send us a new one by email. Please send us your new license at least 14 days before your current one expires. If you fail to do so, we will automatically terminate all your listings in the Alcohol category and block you from posting new listings in this category until your new license has been verified. You will then be able to easily resume your terminated listings.
- In accordance with the agreement, we are entitled to randomly check your permissions even after positive verification – when you are already selling alcohol. We may therefore ask you to resend your documents.
- If you want to expand your product range to include alcoholic beverages that require a different license than the one we have already verified, please fill out the same form again. While we verify your new license, you can continue selling as usual.
You cannot add a new alcoholic product to the Allegro Product Catalog when listing an offer. You can link the offer to a product that is available in the Catalog or submit a new product to us. Check how to do it.
Offers listed in the Alcohol category:
- can only be in the buy now format
- cannot be listed on Allegro Local
- cannot be listed as charity items
- cannot be listed on Allegro Business
- must have a delivery price list with the option of personal collection and the Allegro courier method for age-restricted products.
You cannot list:
- beer and cider in bottles with a capacity of less than 300 ml
- alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of more than 4.5% and a capacity of less than 400 ml
- alcoholic beverages with an alcohol content of over 50% – regardless of bottle capacity
- products that are listed in Appendix 3 to the agreement we have signed.
The content of offers involving alcoholic beverages must be formulated in accordance with the law and the principles of social responsibility. Alcohol offers may not:
- be directed at minors or depict them in any form
- suggest that alcohol consumption improves physical performance
- suggest that alcohol consumption does not affect driving ability
- contain information that alcohol has medicinal, calming, or stimulating properties
- encourage excessive alcohol consumption
- portray abstinence or moderate consumption in a negative light
- emphasize high alcohol content as a feature that improves the quality of the beverage.
You are fully responsible for the content of your offers.
How does personal pickup and delivery of purchases work?
For offers in the Alcohol category, you must add a delivery price list:
- with the option of personal pickup (payment in advance or cash on delivery) and
- with the Allegro courier method for age-restricted products (payment in advance only, payment to the DPD courier is not possible). This is the only courier delivery method that you can offer for alcohol products. We do not deliver alcohol to collection points or parcel machines.
Depending on how the customer receives the order, you enter into one or two agreements with them:

In both cases, you can hand over alcoholic beverages – to the customer or to the DPD courier – only at your stationary point of sale, i.e. the place where you have a license to sell alcohol.
Personal collection
For offers involving alcohol, we require a single personal collection point. This must be the address of the point of sale for which your alcohol sales license was issued. Add this address in the Personal collection point tab.
When picking up an order in person, your customer is subject to the same rules of sobriety and age as when purchasing alcohol in a regular store. The goods can only be released to the person who placed the order. You cannot release an order containing alcohol during local prohibition hours. Mark the pickup in the Orders tab.
Special courier delivery – how to send a parcel
In addition to personal collection, for offers involving alcohol, you must provide delivery via Allegro courier for age-restricted products, carried out by DPD. This is the only courier delivery method that you can offer for alcohol. You can send your parcel via Wysyłam z Allegro (I'm sending from Allegro) and pay for it using Allegro Standard.
- Prepare the goods for shipment and secure them properly.
- Download the shipping label and return documents (report) for the courier. In the Shipments and pickups tab, click on the following:
- Details for a given shipment
- All documents – this will download both documents and save them to the default location on your hard drive.
- Print both documents. The report must be printed in A4 format. Stick the label on the package and put the report in a plastic envelope. The courier will fill out the report, and after a while, the document will be returned to you – archive it. This is confirmation that the alcohol was sold to an authorized person.
- Hand over the ready packages to the courier during a one-time or regular delivery – to arrange the details, write to wsparcie_allegro@dpd.com.pl.
When sending parcels, we will automatically add mandatory additional services:
- Personal delivery (DRW PIN), i.e., verification by the courier of the customer's authorization to receive the parcel.
- Return documents (DZ), i.e., confirmation that the recipient has met all legal requirements (verification of the identity, age, and sobriety of the recipient). This service applies to the protocol that you print for the courier.
We add these services to meet the formal requirements for alcohol delivery and to ensure that the shipment is delivered to a person authorized to receive it, who is of legal age and sober.
Allegro Smart!
The conditions for the Smart! label for offers involving alcoholic beverages are different from those for other offers. Your offers in the Alcohol category will be Smart! if you offer personal pickup at your brick-and-mortar store and the Allegro courier method for age-restricted products, and if you meet the terms and conditions of sale.
The maximum amount you can set in your price lists for this delivery method to qualify for the Smart! label is PLN 21.99.
Customers will benefit from Smart! delivery if they make a purchase from one seller for a minimum of PLN 65.
Combined orders
A combined order, i.e., one that includes alcoholic beverages and products outside the Alcohol category, must be fulfilled in accordance with the rules for orders containing only alcoholic beverages.
See this in the example
The customer places a single order with you for:
- 100 g of pitted green olives
- 0.75 l of dry white wine.
The buyer chooses courier delivery. Due to the fact that the order contains alcohol, you must send the shipment using the Allegro courier method for age-restricted products. In order for us to fulfill the above order, this method should be used for both offers.
If you add the Allegro courier delivery method for age-restricted products to all your offers—including those outside the Alcohol category—you will be able to fulfill combined orders correctly. Buyers will only see this method in offers with alcoholic beverages. To add this method to other offers, create a separate price list.
Delivery costs in Smart! and outside the service
You will pay the same amount for shipments sent using the Allegro courier for age-restricted products method in Smart! and outside the service. You will settle your account once a month directly with us on the basis of an invoice.
The maximum amount you can set in your price lists for this delivery method is PLN 22.99, but to qualify for the Smart! label, you can set a maximum of PLN 21.99. These prices apply to parcels with the following weight and dimensions:
- up to 10 kg of actual or dimensional weight
- longest side – maximum 150 cm
- sum of width, length, and height – maximum 300 cm.
If the parcel exceeds 10 kg, we will charge additional fees in accordance with the price list.
The above prices already include the fee for mandatory additional services:
- delivery to the recipient's hands
- return receipt.
The courier will make two attempts to deliver the parcel, after prior contact with the buyer.
Maximum weight and dimensions of shipments
Maximum actual or volumetric weight: 31.5 kg. Volumetric weight is calculated using the following formula: width cm x length cm x height cm / 6000.
Maximum dimensions:
- length of the longest side: maximum 150 cm
- total length of sides: maximum 300 cm.
Delivery complaints
You can file a complaint regarding:
- delivery service fees
- fees for additional services
- damage or loss of shipment
- delivery delays.
You can do this directly on the DPD website or via our complaint form in the Ordered Shipments tab. Select the order you want to complain about, go to its details, and click [complain about delivery]. Remember to include all necessary documents in your complaint form that will allow for proper consideration of the complaint, such as a damage report, photos of the damaged product, packaging, etc.
What are the return policies
Depending on how the customer receives the order, you enter into one or two remote contracts with the customer:

If your customer has chosen Allegro courier delivery for age-restricted products, they can use one or both of the following options:
- withdrawal from the purchase agreement
- withdrawal from the alcohol delivery agreement.
If the customer chooses courier delivery and, before receiving the shipment:
- withdraws from the delivery agreement – this only means that they are canceling the courier delivery, but does not mean that they are withdrawing from the purchase agreement. In this situation, the customer should pick up the order at your point of sale.
- withdraws from the purchase agreement – this automatically means that they are also withdrawing from the delivery agreement.
Add information about withdrawal from the purchase agreement and delivery agreement to your offers.
We have disabled automatic refunds for customers in the Alcohol category. You can only request a refund yourself in the Orders tab.
Withdrawal from the purchase agreement
The same return policy applies as for other products.
Withdrawal from the alcohol delivery agreement
Your customer may withdraw from the delivery agreement without giving a reason until the shipment is delivered. When they do so, you will receive an email from us. Please contact the carrier—for example, via the DPD app—and withdraw the shipment. In the Orders tab, you will see information about the cancellation of the delivery.
If the customer has purchased several products in one order and has only withdrawn from the purchase agreement for some of them, the agreement for the delivery of alcohol remains in force. The customer cannot withdraw from the delivery agreement for only part of the order.
Alcohol sales and your sales ratings
We can remove negative ratings for transactions in the Alcohol category if they relate to situations beyond your control, i.e., problems with the courier delivering the shipment to the buyer, for example, when the buyer:
- does not show proof of identity to the courier
- is underage
- is intoxicated
- does not have the PIN code to receive the shipment.
In other cases, we treat ratings the same as outside the Alcohol category.
What are the rules for promoting sales?
Offers listed in the Alcohol category cannot participate in promotions such as Allegro Days, Smart! Week, or Black Week. You also cannot advertise them using Allegro Ads.
You can:
- create and share discount coupons for buyers
- use Features and Flexible Features – in this case, however, we will block the Appearance on Google option.
