Estimated delivery time
Expected delivery time
To ensure that the expected delivery time is accurate, select the country of dispatch and the appropriate delivery method, and enter the correct shipping and transport time.
Customers like to know exactly when they will receive their items. This is why we show them information about the expected delivery time.
The customers will see the expected delivery time at each stage of the buying process:
- in the Delivery details section on the offer page
- in the Delivery and payment form
- after the transaction – on the Thank you page
- in the Purchase History tab, in the order details section.
To make sure that the expected delivery time in your offers is precise and up-to-date, select the country of dispatch, define dispatch time and select the delivery methods where you can edit the transit time.
Dispatch country
A dispatch country is the location the items will be shipped from (for example your warehouse). It is not your company’s registration country or its country of origin. If you have warehouses in Poland and you ship some of your items from there, set the dispatch country to Poland in those offers.
Make sure that the information is accurate, as may affect buyers’ satisfaction.
Delivery time
Delivery time consists of dispatch time and transit time.
We present delivery time as a specific date, a time range, or as a number of days (if the delivery time is longer than 7 days). For example:
- Thu Jul 25 (czw. 25 lip.)
- Thu Jul 25 - Fri Jul 26 (czw. 25 lip. - pt. 26 lip.)
- arrives in 10 days (za 10 dni u Ciebie).
Dispatch time is the time between when the buyer pays for the purchase and shipping the package. You can enter it in the listing form or by using the Allegro API. During the dispatch time you should also add the parcel’s tracking number to the order – this way your customers will be able to track their items.
The dispatch time you set for the offer should be accurate, as short as possible, and no longer than 25 working days. If you dispatch products based on your own agreement with the carrier, the delivery time (dispatch + transit time) should not exceed 35 calendar days. These restrictions do not apply to:
- offers from the Furniture subcategory and the Furniture subcategory within Kid's Room
- custom-made products and pre-purchase offers.
If you expect any delay, update the dispatch time accordingly, so that customers would have access to most current and correct data. See how to update the dispatch time in several offers at once.
Transit time is the time between shipping the package and the first delivery attempt. Transit time can only be manually set for some of the shipping methods. In the section below you can check which delivery methods are recommended for international shipping.
Delivery methods
If you ship your packages from abroad, choose those delivery methods that allow you to manually set and edit the transit time. Take a look at the time range in the table below, select the right method and enter the right transit time.

Example 1. If you know that your carrier will deliver a package in 7–15 days:
- select the Courier shipment method in your Delivery Price List (Cennik dostawy).
- edit the transit time accordingly.
Example 2. If know that your carrier will deliver a package in 10–20 days:
- select the Priority mail package (if your carrier provides a tracking number) or the Priority letter method (if they do not provide a tracking number) in your Delivery Price List
- edit the transit time accordingly.
You can select a specific shipping method only once in a single delivery price list. For example, you cannot add the Courier shipment method with a delivery time up to 10 days, and then select a Courier shipment method again with a different delivery time. However, you can create two separate shipping price lists and then set two different courier delivery times.
Remember to only choose the shipping methods that allow you to edit the transit time. If you select other shipping methods, the delivery time may be underestimated, and it may affect your customers' rating.
What you should pay attention to
- Make sure that the information about delivery time in your offers are consistent. Don’t give a different delivery time in the Additional information section than in the Delivery and payment section. For example:
- Don’t choose a delivery method that does not allow you to edit the transit time. For example: on the screen below the shipping method should be Courier delivery instead of Rhenus courier.
- Don’t set a personal pickup point outside of Poland. For example:

How we calculate the estimated delivery time for your listings
We calculate the estimated delivery time using a set of objective algorithms, based on the data available on the platform. Factors that we take into account in the calculations m.in. :
- Actual (historical and current) data on how you ship packages. We obtain information about this from the status of shipments.
- Your declared dispatch time.
- Actual (historical and current) data on how long it takes the carrier to deliver it.
- Shipping time declared by carriers.
- Same-day shipping time declared by you - that is, the time by which the buyer should place an order for you to send the package on the same day.
- The category in which the offer is listed.
- Seasonality of sales (pre-Christmas period, Allegro Days, Black Friday, etc.).
- Working days and holidays, your sales breaks.
We will improve the calculation model and feed it with more data, thanks to which the estimated delivery time will be more and more accurate.
Remember!
Estimated delivery time is the dispatch time + shipping time for the package by the carrier.
Dispatch time counts:
From | down |
---|---|
completed payment (for purchases paid in advance) or placing an Orders by the customer (for purchases paid on delivery) | down sending the parcel, i.e. until the courier scans your parcel or the courier takes the parcel out of the machine and scans it |
The shipping time counts:
From | down |
---|---|
sending the parcel, i.e. from the moment when the courier scans your parcel or the courier takes the parcel out of the machine and scans it | down the first attempt to deliver the parcel to the indicated address or until it is delivered to the machine or collection point |
How we calculate the estimated delivery time
For offers with a declared shipping time immediately or 1 day and set shipping times on the same day. For such offers, we display the same dispatch time as declared.
When you meet all of the following conditions:
- you offer declarations of dispatch time immediately or 1 day
- you have set same day shipping times
- you meet the requirements for the same day shipping time to be displayed
- in the offer you provide a delivery method with a transit time within 1 day
this:
- before the cut-off time, we will display the following information in the offer: "buy by XX:XX - delivery tomorrow"
- after the cut-off time, we will display the information: "delivery tomorrow"
If the following day is a non-working day or the carrier does not deliver on that day or the carrier has a shipping time longer than one day, then:
- before the cut-off time, we will display the following information in the offer: "buy by XX:XX - delivery the day after tomorrow"
- after the cut-off time, we will display the information: "delivery the day after tomorrow".
For offers with a declared shipping time: immediately, 1 day, 2 days, 3 days. If you do not have the same day shipping time set or you do not meet the requirements for the same day shipping time to be displayed, the machine learning engine will analyze historical data about the speed of your shipments. The engine will separately analyze the speed of sending offers with a given declaration (1 day, 2 days, etc.). We will take into account the data from the last 90 days (in the case of special periods - pre-Christmas period, Allegro Days, Black Friday, etc. we can consider longer periods).
The machine learning engine takes into account:
- dispatch time declared by the seller.
- historical data on the seller's shipping speed
- day of the week
- the current time
- delivery method
- working days and holidays, breaks in sales
- seasonality of sales (pre-Christmas period, Allegro Days, Black Friday, etc.).
- whether the seller has set same-day shipping times.
If you have failed to ship a significant number of orders within the Estimated Shipping Time in the last three business days, we will extend the Estimated Delivery Time by one day on all your listings on that day.
For offers with a declared shipping time of 4 days or more We add the shipping time for a given method to the declared shipping time. Information about the calculated estimated delivery time is displayed to buyers in the shopping path.
Make sure that the information about the delivery time in your offers is accurate
To make the estimated delivery time as accurate and up-to-date as possible for your offers, make sure that the following details are correct today:
1. dispatch time for each Offers
Remember!
We calculate the dispatch time based on how realistically you ship Orders, not on your declaration. To avoid discrepancies between your declaration and the shipping time from our calculations, enter a realistic and shortest possible dispatch time.
- If you send Offers at different times, some faster, others slower , do not set the same shipping time for all offers .
- Group the Offers and set a separate and actual dispatch time for each group.
- Do not set a longer shipping time "in stock" - if you send faster.
- Remember! Shorter dispatch time are more attractive to the buyer.
- If you expect delays in the shipment of an item, update the dispatch time so that customers have access to the most recent and correct data.
How group shipping time changes work
2. Same-Day dispatch
Set the time of purchase by which the buyer should place the order, so that the package will be sent the same day. If you correctly set the same day shipping time and stick to it, it helps to determine if the parcel will be shipped on the day of purchase. It is worth setting the latest possible time, because it is convenient for your customers and has a positive impact on their purchasing decisions. Above all, however , the time of dispatch on the same day should be set in a realistic way , so that you can keep it every time.
You can negotiate with the courier company at what time the courier will come to you to pick up the parcels. This is your internal arrangement with the operator. The later the time you agree with the carrier, the more time you will have to complete the Orders and generate labels. Thanks to this, you will fulfill Orders from later hours on the same day. Contact your carrier and ask them about this possibility.
How to set up a same day shipping time
3. delivery option
Make sure to include delivery from carriers with which we are integrated in your offers.
For shipments that you send via these carriers, we automatically receive shipment numbers and statuses and display them on Allegro. Thanks to this, we have up-to-date data on your shipments. The estimated delivery time is then calculated on the basis of actual data. For other carriers, we calculate the shipping time based on market standards.
Delivery price lists - creation, editing and replacement
4. waybill number
It is important to provide the numbers of the waybills within the deadline, i.e. within the time of shipment declared by you.
If the order includes several items from offers in which you declare different shipping times - we assume the longest dispatch time. Thanks to this, you can complete the entire order, as well as send the shipment and enter the waybill number in accordance with the longest shipping time declaration.
The fact that you provide waybill numbers and our integration with carriers at the status level allows us to predict delivery times more accurately. Your customers will be able to track the status of their parcel directly on Allegro or on the carrier's website.
Why is it worth providing customers with a tracking number and how to do it?
FAQ
1. Why are the date ranges in the estimated delivery time so wide for my listings, e.g. five days?
This may be due to the fact that you send parcels inconsistently with the declared shipping time - sometimes on the same day, and sometimes after a few days of purchase. That's why it's very important to list the actual dispatch time in your offers and to keep to it. Wide date ranges may be due to the fact that your dispatch time, which you specify in working days, is superimposed on a weekend, your Vacation or holidays. When providing the estimated delivery time, we convert business days into calendar days for customers, taking into account all holidays that occur pending your shipment.
2. Does the estimated delivery time take into account the working hours and days off, as well as holidays and weekends that I have provided?
Yes. Our mechanism takes into account your working hours, days off, holidays and weekends. We want the estimated delivery time to be as close to the real one as possible.
3. When I change something in the offer, e.g. dispatch time, after what time will the estimated delivery time for this Offers change?
If you change something in your listing, such as the dispatch time, we'll save your changes and your offer will be updated within 60 minutes. New delivery times will be displayed when the Offers is updated. Remember to refresh the page.
4. Does the dispatch time count until I enter the bill of lading number?
No, the dispatch time is counted until the shipment is sent - that is, until the courier scans your package. Providing the waybill number does not determine the shipping time. It next until you send the package.
5. Some orders are sent immediately, but some items are made to order and these are sent within 7 days. I have underestimated the dispatch time in the offers, although I gave 7 days for all. What to do not to mislead customers?
Set a separate dispatch time for offers that you send immediately and a separate one for those made to order. Then we will monitor and calculate each group (faster and slower) separately.
6. Isn't it better to specify the dispatch time with a margin? It may happen that I will have so many orders that I will not be able to deliver quickly. Then what?
The most important thing is how realistically you send Orders - on this basis we display the dispatch time in your offers:
- if the quantity of orders is normal - set a shorter dispatch time, according to the actual implementation in ordinary situations,
- if you have more orders than you can send on time - edit the group dispatch time to a longer one. React on an ongoing basis to the quantity of orders.
7. On my Offers page it says "Dispatch time usually within 24 hours" and yet the delivery details say 8 days. Should it be like that?
On the Offers page, we provide the dispatch time, i.e. the time when you hand over the package to the courier or to the collection point - in this case usually up to 24 hours. But already in the delivery details on the Offers page, we provide the estimated delivery time, i.e. information about when the parcel will be at the customer's or at the pick-up point - hence 8 days. Apparently, this stage, when the carrier delivers the package, lasts about 7 days.
8. I am making the offer available in the bidding mode and it will last 6 more days. The Offers page says "Dispatch time usually within 24 hours" because I send parcels quickly. But I'll ship it in 6 days. Is the information on the Offers page correct?
Yes, the information about your shipping time on the Offers page is correct, because you send parcels quickly. When the customer enters the Delivery Details, they will see the estimated delivery time "in 10 - 12 days at your place", which includes 6 days until the end of the auction and the time it takes the carrier to deliver the package.
9. What is my shipment data ? How many days do they cover? For what period do we analyze this data?
This is data about the shipping time - that is, the time when you send the purchased item. We analyze this data based on shipment statuses up to 90 days ago.
