We have introduced changes to our brand protection policy

What we changed on September 2

For sellers with business accounts

• You can list, edit, and relist offers with products of protected brands on Allegro only if you confirm that you know the Brand Protection Conditions.
• You will no longer list classifieds with products of protected brands on Allegro Lokalnie.

For sellers with regular accounts

You will not list offers with products of protected brands on Allegro. You can only list classifieds with those products on Allegro Lokalnie.

For all sellers

We have introduced the Restrictions Policy. It allows us to impose restrictions on your account if we find out that you list non-genuine products.

There are 3 tiers of possible violations within the Restrictions Policy.

Tier 1

If an authorized entity informs us that the product in your offer is non-genuine:

• we will remove that offer and all your offers where you list products of that brand
• you will not list new offers or relist expired ones with products of that brand for the next 180 days.

We will do that on all your accounts registered with the same NIP (Tax Identification Number).

Tier 2

If we receive another report of this kind, concerning one of your accounts registered with the same NIP (Tax Identification Number), within 180 days of the previous one:

• we will remove that offer and all your offers where you list products of that brand
• we will prevent you from listing new offers or relisting expired ones with products of that brand.

Additionally, if the report concerns a product of one of the protected brands:

• on all your accounts registered with the same NIP (Tax Identification Number):

• we will remove all your offers where you list products of protected brands

  • we will prevent you from listing new offers and relisting expired ones with products of those brands

• we will impose a financial penalty of 2,500 PLN, 15,000 CZK, 600 EUR, or 230,000 HUF — depending on the marketplace you sell in. We will collect the money from your account — just like we charge other fees for our services.

Tier 3

If we receive a third report of this kind concerning one of your accounts registered with the same NIP (Tax Identification Number):

• we will impose a financial penalty on you again. It will be 2,500 PLN, 15,000 CZK, 600 EUR, or 230,000 HUF — depending on the marketplace you sell in.
• we will prevent you from listing new offers and terminate all your active offers. You will not be allowed to purchase on Allegro either.

What we changed on October 2

• We terminated all offers with products of protected brands, listed on Allegro from regular accounts.
• We terminated all offers with products of protected brands, listed on Allegro Lokalnie from business accounts.
• We terminated all offers with products of protected brands, listed from business accounts by sellers who have not confirmed that they know the Brand Protection Conditions.

Why we have implemented those changes

• We restrict unfair competition. The Brand Protection Conditions are a set of rules the sellers must follow to sell products of specific brands on Allegro. We terminate offers from sellers who fail to do that. It will improve the competitiveness of our platform and may encourage more buyers to choose your offers.
• We care about the buyers' trust and satisfaction. Thanks to those changes, we will reduce the number of offers with non-genuine products. This can enhance the customers' positive shopping experience and encourage them to buy on Allegro again — maybe from you.
• We increase the brand protection level. Thanks to those changes, we can encourage brand owners to sell their products on Allegro. For them, it is a great chance for development and increasing the number of potential customers. You, on the other hand, get a chance to add branded products to your assortment.
