We have changed the way of adding buyers to the Blacklisted Buyers tab
From today, you can only add a customer to the tab if you select a reason from the list and present at least three orders from the last 180 days the reason is related to.
Blacklisted Buyers is a tab where you can add customers and restrict them from buying in your offers. You can do it if you have a legitimate, valid, and recurring reason — for example, if the buyer does not comply with our Terms & Conditions.
How it used to work
Earlier, while adding a customer to the Blacklisted Buyers tab, sellers provided a reason behind their decision. You would select it from the following list:
- The buyer repeatedly failed to pay for their purchases
- The buyer repeatedly won auctions and failed to pay for their purchases
- The buyer repeatedly failed to pick up my POD parcels
- The buyer repeatedly returned the wrong goods to me
- The buyer repeatedly threatened to take actions against me
- The buyer repeatedly returned damaged goods to me.
What we have changed
From today, you can only add a customer to the tab if you select a reason from the list and present at least three orders from the last 180 days the reason is related to. If you fail to do that, you will not add that customer to the tab and restrict them from buying in your offers.
The only exception is the reason — The buyer repeatedly threatened to take actions against me. When selecting that reason, you do not need to present the orders. Instead, we will ask you to submit examples (such as screenshots) that will confirm at least three threats from the customer.
Soon, you will be able to add all such materials directly in the Blacklisted Buyers tab — while adding customers.
Why we have made those changes
We have introduced those changes to adapt the tab to the requirements of the Head of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK). Additionally, thanks to the fact that you specify the orders, we can confirm that you have grounds to restrict a selected customer's ability to purchase. This will be useful, for example, when that customer contacts us and asks for clarification.
Hint
If you believe that the actions of a given customer violate the law or our Terms & Conditions, you can contact us. At Allegro, we are constantly working to curb fraudulent and illegal activities, for example, through monitoring customers’ activities. We verify each report and if we confirm that a buyer violates the law or our Terms & Conditions, may impose appropriate sanctions, including restricting their access to the platform.
