Submit the correct declaration, depending on whether you are a battery producer
We are adjusting more options on our platform to help you sell on Allegro in compliance with the law. Learn more.
Duties regarding extended producer responsibility, arising from the EU regulation on batteries and waste batteries, are planned to come into force on August 18. According to it, you need to provide the EPR numbers if you have the producer status. You can submit the correct declaration according to your producer status.
Today, we have introduced options thanks to which you can:
- declare that you are not a producer of batteries and products containing batteries or
- declare that you meet the requirements of the new regulation as a producer after adding the EPR numbers.
You do not have the producer status if you:
- do not produce batteries, do not order the production of batteries, or sell them under your own brand
- do not place them on the market in an EU country for the first time
- do not place batteries from another country (inside or outside the EU) on the market in an EU country for the first time
- do not sell batteries to an EU country other than the one where you have your registered office (inside or outside the EU).

How you can submit the declaration that you are not a producer
How to find the statement that you are not a producer:
- Go to the EPR tab in the Sales Center.
- Find the Batteries (BATT) section under the name of the country in which you have your registered office. There, you can find the [I am not a producer] slider. Hover the cursor over the information icon next to it and read when you have the producer status.
- Click on the slider and confirm the declaration that you do not have the producer status.
If you submit the declaration that you are not a battery producer, you will not be obliged to provide the EPR number for the country where you have your registered office.
How you can submit the declaration as a producer
After you add the EPR for the given country where you sell, you can submit the declaration that you act in compliance with the EU law and the batteries you sell meet the Batteries Regulation conditions.
- Go to the EPR tab in the Sales Center.
- Provide the EPR number for the correct country where you sell. Below, you can see the red dot icon and the following text: Battery Producer's Declaration of Self-Certification.
- Click on [accept the declaration]. A window with the statement content will pop up.
- Click on [I accept the declaration] and confirm the changes. Done!
You cannot add most EPR numbers if you do not accept the Battery Producer's Declaration of Self-Certification. The EPR number for Poland (BDO) is an exception. You can add it without the Declaration of Self-Certification if you check the I am not a producer declaration.
