What the ESPR changes
The regulation introduces a total ban on destroying unsold products, in particular:
- clothing
- footwear
- clothing accessories.
Who will be affected by the ban
- From July 19, 2026, the ban will apply to large enterprises.
- From July 19, 2030, the ban will apply to medium-sized enterprises.

What it means for you
If you run a large enterprise, from July 19, you cannot destroy unsold or returned clothing and footwear. You cannot give away these products to smaller companies just to dispose of them.
