Brand Consistency Standard — how we protect your brand
Under the Brand Consistency Standard, we support blocking incorrect links between offers and products. While we ensure data accuracy in the Allegro Product Catalog, you can focus on selling and growing your business.
What the Brand Consistency Standard is
The Brand Consistency Standard is a set of actions through which we protect trademarks registered in:
- the EUIPO database
- the TMView database, or
- the Polish Patent Office — even if their protection period has expired. This is because products by these brands may still exist in commercial circulation and be available for sale.
Which brands are covered by the Standard
We have reviewed and put under protection approximately 13,000 brands. We prioritize brands:
- from the Brands Protection Conditions program
- with products that sellers most frequently link incorrectly to offers
- from our programs, like the Brands Zone.
You can check all of these brands on the list attached below. We update it every month.
How we operate under the Standard
We automatically block incorrect links between offers and products: if you enter other brand or no brand value in the Brand parameter — you will not be able to link such an offer to a product covered by the Standard.
- We protect unique products: we will not link products that are only visually similar if at least one of them belongs to a brand covered by the Standard.
- We provide a tool for automatic offer updates: when we detect an inconsistency between your offer and the product, you can update the details with a single click.
- We provide full information regarding the incorrect links between offers and products you reported: you can find the status of your reports in the Issues tab in the Sales Center. There, you can also check the guaranteed resolution time for your case and the justification of our decision. Learn more.
What happens if you incorrectly link an offer to a protected brand's product
You will learn about it in the Offer updates tab. Next to a given offer, you will see:
- what the suggested change concerns
- why you need to make it
- what you can correct in the offer.
Click [accept change] to update a given offer. You have 14 days to do it. After this time, we will unlink the product from your offer and automatically terminate it.
What to do if your brand is not on the list of brands covered by the Standard
First, make sure that the brand you are submitting is not on the list of values for the given parameter. Go to the selected category on the Allegro page and check the available values in the Brand parameter. If your brand is missing, report it to us via the form. Once we add it, we will inform you by email.
If your brand is already available on Allegro, you can apply to have it covered by the Standard. Reach out to us via the contact form. Make sure that your message contains:
- name of the brand you want to submit
- a link to the EUIPO, TMView, or Polish Patent Office database confirming the trademark registration.
We update the Brand Consistency Standard once a month — usually during the second week of each month.
What you gain with the Standard
- We protect the brand image — we ensure that branded products are not linked to offers of other goods. By doing so, we safeguard their reputation.
- You can correct potential errors quickly — we give you specific guidelines and up to 14 calendar days to update your data.
- Together, we build buyer trust — thanks to consistent information in the Allegro Product Catalog, customers are more likely to choose your offers.
In addition to our work under the Brand Consistency Standard, we continuously improve data quality within the Allegro Product Catalog. We check the accuracy of links between offers and products — both in active offers and the listing form. Every month, we correct nearly 800,000 incorrect links and ensure that we present buyers with consistent and accurate product information.
