Today we will start removing incorrect GTIN (EAN) codes from offers
Starting August 29, we will remove incorrect GTIN (EAN) codes from active offers. Check what it may mean for you.
As announced, on August 29, we will start removing the GTIN (EAN) codes that are not registered in the GS1 Organization database from active offers.
What it means for you
If the GTIN (EAN) code is a mandatory parameter in a given category, you will not edit or relist an offer until you provide its correct value.
What you can do
If the GTIN (EAN) parameter value in your offers is incorrect — edit the offers and provide the correct EAN (GTIN) code that is applicable for the product you sell and registered in the GS1 database.
- You can complete the mandatory parameters in the Add Parameters tab.
- You can complete the non-mandatory parameters while editing the offer in the listing form.
In both cases, you can also complete the parameters through the API or while editing the offers in a file.
Where you can get the correct GTIN (EAN) code
Contact the distributor or manufacturer of the product you sell. And if you are a manufacturer and sell products under your own brand — you can receive the EAN (GTIN) code from the GS1 Organization.
