How the floods in Poland, Czechia, and Slovakia affect sales on Allegro — update of September 18
We are working on solutions that will minimize the impact of the floods on selling on Allegro. See what we have done so far.
What we are doing
- We let the buyers know that their orders may be delayed due to the floods. We display that information, among others, on the main page and in the contact form. Additionally, we inform the buyers if we notice you did not manage to dispatch the parcels on time. We send notifications to mobile app users that their parcels may not arrive as expected.
- If you ship orders from an area affected by flooding and you do not manage to dispatch them on time, we automatically exclude them from your sales quality. This means that delayed dispatch will not have a negative impact on your results in the On-time dispatch and Fast dispatch metrics.
- If you run your business in an area affected by flooding and get a negative rating for delayed dispatch — we exclude it. In such a case, we will not include that rating in your recommendation percentage, average sales rating, as well as in the Recommendations from buyers and Buyer satisfaction metrics.
- We check on an ongoing basis the Discussions in which sellers from areas affected by flooding did not respond. We join those discussions to explain the situation and ask the buyers for patience.
- If you run your business in an area affected by flooding, we also check if you have any messages or Discussions that you have not responded to on time. If yes — we will also exclude them from your sales quality. They will not have a negative impact on your results in the Timely responses, Average response time, and Unresolved Discussions metrics.
We are continuously monitoring the situation, but we cannot identify every order, message, or Discussion that we should exclude. If you run a business in an area affected by flooding and you notice that we have not excluded:
- an order you did not manage to dispatch on time, or
- a message from the buyer or a Discussion you did not manage to answer on time, contact us when it is convenient for you. We will process your request as soon as possible and exclude those orders, messages, or Discussions from your sales quality.
What you can do if you sell on Allegro
If you know you will not be able to dispatch parcels according to the declared dispatch time, you can use the following options.
- If you have a business account ― use the Sales break option. It allows you to suspend all your active offers with a single click. If you are not able to do this yourself, we can help. Just contact us and we will start the Sales break on your account.
- If you have a regular account ― terminate all your ongoing offers, and relist them when you can start selling again. Check how to do this in multiple offers at the same time.
Until you disable the Sales break or relist your offers, your sales will not be active. Thanks to that, no new orders will appear or negatively impact your sales quality if you do not fulfill them.
You can also leave your offers active and set a later declared dispatch time. You can do it in the My Assortment tab by editing offers in bulk ― both on a business and regular account.
What if you sell on Allegro Lokalnie
If you sell on Allegro Lokalnie and you know you will not be able to dispatch parcels in the upcoming days — terminate your offers. You can do it in the Moje aktywne ogłoszenia (My active classifieds) tab.
Check the information from carriers
You can find out how the carriers are currently operating on their websites, for example, Allegro One Courier, DHL, or DPD. Follow them to stay up to date.
