We have changed the way we calculate ratings and recommendations from buyers
On March 28, we changed the way we exclude the ratings and recommendations from one buyer. Until now, we excluded them based on the date the rating was submitted. From today, we will exclude them based on the date of purchase.
Sales ratings and recommendations that buyers grant you after the purchase are included in your statistics:
- in the Ratings Received tab — in the average rating and the recommendation percentage
- in the My Sales Quality dashboard, in the Buyer satisfaction and the Recommendations from buyers metrics.
In some cases, we can exclude the ratings and recommendations from your statistics. Then, you and the buyers see them on the Rating list, but we do not account for them in the statistics.
How it worked before
We could exclude ratings and recommendations for 5 reasons. One of the reasons was as follows: The buyer has already left you a rating in the last 7 days. According to it, we did not include in your statistics the ratings of the same buyer if their second rating was submitted earlier than 7 days from the previous rating.
What we have changed
On March 28, we changed the way we exclude the ratings and recommendations from one buyer. Until now, we excluded them based on the date the rating was submitted. From today, we will exclude them based on the date of purchase. We will check how much time passes between the purchases made by the same customer. We will include in your statistics only the ratings of the purchases made at least 3 days apart.
Example
The customer purchases a porcelain set on April 1, an electric kettle on April 2, a bowl on April 5, and a cutlery set on April 8. They submit ratings for those four purchases on April 20 — they do it in chronological order. In that case:
- in your statistics, we include the rating of the purchase from April 1, as it is the first rating submitted
- we do not include the rating of the purchase from April 2 in your statistics because only 1 day passed from the previous purchase, whose rating we accounted for
- we include the rating of the purchase from April 5 in your statistics because more than 3 days passed from the previous purchase (from April 1), whose rating we accounted for
- the rating of the purchase from April 8 is included in your statistics, as 3 days passed from the previous purchase (from April 5), whose rating we included.
