We have changed the way we calculate offer popularity
We no longer take multi-variant offers into account. Check what it means.
Popularity informs customers about how many people have purchased in a given offer. We display it:
- on the offer page — right under the price
- in the Favorite offers tab
- in the Other offers of product section.
Buyers can sort offers by popularity on the list of offers linked to a product from our Catalog — by clicking [compare X offers] on the search result page. The order of search results is determined by the number of purchases made in the offer and the number of bidders in the last 30 days. If several offers have the same results, sorting is based on the time left until the end of an offer.
How it worked before
The popularity of multi-variant offers in selected categories was a sum of the popularity of all products from offers that created variants.
A multi-variant offer is a set of linked offers of a single product in different variants — sizes, colors, or weights.
Example
In a multi-variant offer, you sell women's wellingtons in different colors and sizes. In the offer in which you sell pink size 40 wellingtons, we display information that 15 people have made a purchase — in that number, we also include people who have green size 39 wellingtons bought in another variant of your offer.
What we have changed
We no longer consider multi-variant offers in offer popularity. This way, information about popularity will be more understandable to buyers.
However, we have not changed the way of sorting by relevance.
Example
In a multi-variant offer, you sell women's wellingtons in different colors and sizes. In the offer in which you sell size 40 pink wellingtons, we display information that 10 people have bought them in the last 30 days. In another variant of your offer with size 39 green wellingtons, we will display information that 5 people have bought them in the last 30 days.
