How to request a surcharge

How to request a surcharge

If the payment from the buyer turned out to be too low, you can request a surcharge. You will do it in the relevant tab. Find out more.

If a payment from a buyer is too low or they agree for you to impose additional costs, such as international shipping fees — you can ask them for a surcharge in the Orders tab.

Remember
  • You can request a surcharge multiple times, until the buyer pays it.
  • The buyer can pay the surcharge only once for a given order — up to 30 days of the purchase.

What the surcharge amount is

Depending on the marketplace, the surcharge amount can be:

  • from 1 to 30 PLN — for orders placed on allegro.pl
  • from 3 to 150 CZK — for orders placed on allegro.cz
  • from 1 to 8 EUR — for orders placed on allegro.sk.
Customers in foreign marketplaces can buy from you without registering on Allegro

You will process orders placed by unregistered buyers just like any others. However, you cannot request a surcharge from such customers.

How to request a surcharge

  1. Go to a selected transaction in the Orders tab.
  2. Click actions, and next, ask for a surcharge.

  1. Enter the surcharge amount. You can also add an explanation or just click [send your request].

If you sell on allegro.cz, the maximum surcharge is 150 CZK.

  1. The buyer will receive a notification informing them that they should pay the surcharge to the email address they provided in the account settings. There, they can find transaction details and the link to the surcharge form.
